    Ghenghis12... I actually like that idea! :)

And other people are right, the entire Vong race / threat will NOT be eliminated in the remaining three books.

Star Wars focus's on the triumph of good over evil, morality, etc... that is why I can't even foresee the good guys using a biological weapon to win the war. Not in today's political environment. It would not look good for LFL / Del Rey.

Whilst I agree that Alpha Red won't be used by the GFFA, whos to say a splinter group won't get there hands on it, maybe not as a NJO story, but for Dennings trilogy?

That could be a good bases for a trilogy. Some militant splinter group or soem such gets their hands on Alpha Red reaserch and tries to recreate it, and some Jedi catch wind of this and must stop it before whole sale genocide is commited, or before a fragile peace is broken.

I'm just happy it's paperback, so I don't have to wait milleniums as usual.

Would this untitled trilogy be almost the last of Del Rey's contracted works, perhaps? They expire in 2005, don't they?

I think Nom Anor should team up with Lumiya, and plot to take over the galaxy, starting off a whole new storyline which will continue for a while.

It would be good to see the Sith back as the main baddies, with a little Vong thrown in.

I agree that the Sith coming back, would be cool, after all there has to be some remnant of them left, surely?

Odds are though that, it'll either be the Vong remnant, some new enemy, or an enemy from within storyline.

I think it will be about Jacen attempting to rid the galaxy of all evil....but failing utterly, and Luke then going up to him and literally kicking him in the pants and saying "Let someone else handle this 'hero' business for once, okay?" and then proceeding to bring the galaxy to a Utopian state by twitching his little finger.

    :D

I don't dislike Jacen. I just like Luke way better, that's all, and I think that since he's a uber-powerful Jedi he should be given a chance to do something really cool to prove it!

Perhaps this new trilogy will make up for the minimal scenes with baby Ben in NJO.

I see a big problem with the Empire coming back and being the bad guys again. if that happens it just means that the Star Wars universe and storyline hasnt evolved from the Bantam line of books. That is why the Epmire seems so refreshing in the NJO. They are not the same government that they once where. I for sure am not sure what turn the new books should take. I have really enjoyed the NJO series because it was an ongoing storyline, and not a villain of the week series like most of the Bantam books. What they should not try to do however, is to cram nearly every single Star Wars character into one novel. Each book should concentrate on a few characters, for example Luke and Leia finding out about their mother. I would hate for this book to be written and the emphasis taken away with some stupid B-plot involving a super weapon. It should concentrate on them mostly.

I personally don't think the Empire will ever be the bad guys again, however I can unfotunately see the plot device of the GFFA thinking the Empire are the bad guys, when in actual fact they won't be!!!!

When I first heard of this post-NJO trilogy, my first curiosity was why the contradiction...why consider making a post-NJO anything when they've been saying for a while that it all ends with the NJO? Then I figured, maybe there's something people still desperately want from Star Wars, that the NJO utterly failed/fails to give them...I'd say half or more than half of Star Wars readers want some sort of return of the beloved Anakin Solo. And who better to bring him back than the author who killed him.

    What do you think?!?

    POST NJO...

    Galactic Alliance
With the end of the war, the new Galactic Federation of Free Alliances grew. Imperial Remnant and New Republic forces combined and the Alliance strived to rebuild the galaxy. Cal Omas at the end of the war retired from politics having set up the Galactic Alliances and Releqy AK?la was elected as Supreme Chancellor. The Galactic Alliance used Yuuzhan Vong captured technology to move a planet through the Coruscanti System and built upon it New Coruscant, the new capital of the galaxy. A temporary branch of government was formed called the Galactic Alliance Relief Corps. It?s job was to do the unfathomable, find all the lost ones in the war, find them back to their homes and give them jobs in rebuilding their lives and homes. The Galactic Alliance Military issued all their starships and technologies to be called back into docks. Slowly all the Super Star Destroyers, Star Destroyers, Mon Calamari Cruisers, TIE Fighters, Y-Wings, old X-Wings were all melted to scrap and the entire military was refitted with state of the art technology. New Alliance Cruisers were constructed, many new ships were built for various purposes. A new X-Wing Starfighter design was constructed, much more sleek and streamlined to the previous designs, and was distributed as the starfighter of the Galactic Alliance Military. Bombers and other specialised starcraft were also created. This was all under the guidance of the Galactic Alliance Supreme Commander, Admiral Gilad Pellaeon, former Grand Admiral of the Imperial Remnant. The Alliance Intelligence was formed from the former Intelligence agencies of the old New Republic and Imperial Remnant. Under the head of Admiral Talon Kardde, the Alliance Intelligence worked closely with the Jedi intelligence in obtaining a wide source of contacts throughout the galaxy. The members of the Galactic Alliance included those of the former New Republic, those of the former Imperial Remnant, the Hapan Consortium and Corporate Sector. The Chiss Empire did not seem interested in joining the Galactic Alliance but kept peaceful trade between the two. The Hutt Crime Empires in Hutt Space was the only troublesome group. Especially for the Relief Corps. With the Alliance Military and Intelligence now efficiently spread to the limits of known space, the scum and villainy of the galaxy ? including many former members of the late Peace Brigade had pulled into Hutt Space and sparse planets like Tatooine and Ryloth. Unfortunatley the biggest dealings organised by the Hutts was slavery ? particularly the slavery of those who had found themselves lost in the war. The Relief Corps requested action against the Hutts and the Alliance military with the support of many Jedi Knights entered Hutt space and brought down the major crime syndicates. With only small groups of criminals wandering the galaxy, the Galactic Alliance was well set to thrive and prosper.

    Jedi Order
The Jedi after the Yuuzhan Vong undertook drastic changes. The High Council that had been set up during the war was dissolved and a new Jedi Council was formed to be more involved in the directing of the Jedi rather than the ruling of the galaxy which was the Galactic Alliances job. Leaving things for the professionals, the Jedi left governing to the gorvernment and focused on protecting the government by using their special skills in the Force to support the Alliance Military, Intelligence, Relief Corps, Diplomatic Corps and Government. During the war, due to voxyn attacks on Force sensitives, thousands of people had discovered they were Force sensitive and a sudden surge of new recruits occurred. The Jedi built a new Jedi Temple on New Coruscant which housed the Jedi Academy and the new Jedi Council. It also became the center of the Great River, which was the Jedi Intelligence network still in place since the war. The only thing the Jedi lacked was the knowledge of their past.

    Yuuzhan Vong
The surviving members of the Yuuzhan Vong race were the Shamed Ones and few other heretics who had realised the Vong gods were fakes, set u

-Leia will have another child, just to make her still involoved after the Vong war.

-Luke and Leia will learn about thier mother and Leia will become Queen of Naboo. [face_laugh]

-Jaina will get Jag, even though I like her with Zekk, and have twins. Jacen will hook up with Tenel Ka.

-Anakin will come back as a force ghost whenever there's trouble.

-The GFFA will rebuild the galaxy.

-The Sith will return only to be picked off easily.

-Ben will be a little older and more keen to the force.

-Nom Anor will lead the now peaceful Vong.

-More Jedi will be found until there hundreds.

-The Galaxy will once again be at peace for thousands of years. Then another saga will begin.

I don't think the Vong will end up being wholly peaceful, I see them as the Empire was in the early Bantam works, an onoging enemy, that isn't the whole story, but more of a back story of fighhting that the main story will take place in.

As far as I can work out, this will be near the end of Del Rey's contract for SW literature, so who's to say a major character won't be killed off, my betting is on Luke, because without him future post NJO literature can be focused on the new breed of Jedi. What does everone else think of a major character death?

Who would like to see some books about Kyle Katarn? I think Denning is a great author, but my favorite EU author has to be Aaron Allston.

Gah! I just hope that after the war, there is some cleanup operations and the galaxy gradualy returns to normal. Our heroes live out the rest of their lives in peacefull prosperity, and so does the galaxy for millenia.

Ben Skywalker will mature under the tutelage of his father, and then, his cousin Jacen Solo. He will be the next hero of the series and will rise up to combat the greatest enemy the Jedi has faced since the Vong: er...Some other guys no one knows about. Or maybe them Empire people again...
