St. Lou, MO Turkey Day silliness

Hello everyone!

As some of you may remember, last spring JCF and I were involved in the St.Louis Renaissance Faire. This week the Faire is volunteering to haul a giant floating balloon through downtown St.Louis in the Thanksgiving Day parade. We?ve requested Humpty Dumpty, there?s some kind of theme there if you think about it for a minute.

We?re still looking for more people to help out, so if the idea of wrangling a giant balloon while in costume amuses you, let me know.

The parade is in the morning, so everyone should be home by noon ? plenty of time to stuff yourself on turkey, and a good excuse to get out helping in the kitchen. You will need to be in some kind of rennie outfit, but extra garb is available if needed.

If you have any questions, let me know. If there?s interest I?ll post info in this thread, otherwise I?ll just post pictures when it?s all over.

I was in the parade last year, marching with a company of Union and Confederate infantry and cavalry. We marched for the Missouri Civil War Museum at Jefferson Barracks.

I'd like to, but I have nothing even remotely close to those centuries, lol.

 

Avoiding the cooking > all else. Yea for parades.

 

I won't be able to be at this parade. I will be out of town.

So, no seeing me in tights this time around. Sorry Dajuan.

And to think I would be on TV with that garb...

Well, it's the STL Thanksgiving day parade, it's always shown on channel 5 or 4 or something.

 

I'd like to, but I have nothing even remotely close to those centuries, lol.

You guys are going to be freezing tomorrow... That's how it was last year at the St. Patricks Day parade.

So, you going to join cast Dajuan? Did you meet a lot of people?

 

My uncle got it on tape I think, I can steal it from him. I'm thinking about going for a weekend or two, with school it's hard to put aside tht much time. Worse comes, I'll make a new garb for it and hang for a while. I did meet a lot of people, but there were so many I forget who's who. I did see the fairy from your party though. Said hi to her.
