Yeah, I'm tired of guys intentionally bringing out cautions to help a teammate out. That kind of garbage belongs in F1.

Oh, and I couldn't help but laugh till it hurt after Chris Myers said that no other sport is as true to its fans and roots like nascar. I'm tired of Fox trying to convince us the state of the sport is just dandy. It's not.

Hamlin intentionally brought out a caution? Excuse me? That's b-s. Some help he was after he got parked for two laps.

Everyone's just mad because Toyota is beating every other make in NASCAR and JGR is starting to become even more of a threat. Some people need to get over the fact that Jr. really doesn't have as much talent as everybody claims he does; if he's so talented, he would have won more races, and possibly even a championship; tony had a winless drought last year or the year before, and he's a good driver, but he won three or more races that year. How many has Jr. won? Not nearly as many as Stewart, I assure you. It wasn't Busch's fault; he got loose and Jr. was RIGHT THERE and neither one could go anywhere.

in case anybody's forgotten, DE, Sr. bumped, pushed, etc.. everyone out of the way in order to get a win. But does anybody think of that? Oh no, that doesn't count because he was an Earnhardt. Please. If another driver does the same thing, they get booed, threatened, whatever and it's uncalled for. I like how Jr. fans conveniently forget how his daddy did the same thing. *that was drenched with sarcasm, btw*

no offense towards any Jr. Fans, but he's just famous because of his dad. Most of his fans were fans of his dad. It's sickening, to be honest. Maybe he can drive, but I'm not seeing any signs of it.

when Kyle Busch or another Gibbs car wins the Championship, I'll come back to this thread.

The 11 definitely stopped on track for a caution. Whether it was team orders to help his teammate or not, the bottom line is nascar will always penalize for you stopping on the track to bring out the caution.

The luckiest man on the face of the earth is Michael Waltrip. If Kyle Busch didn't steal the attention away at the end, he'd be the target of the week. The guy always seems so nice and funny on TV and in commercials, but throughout his entire career he's had incidents to prove that he definitely has an evil side.

Hamlin's penalty only was being parked for two laps? That is B*. I personally think he should have been parked for longer. He had many laps to pit. He ran around the track stubbornly and cost Busch the lead when Jr had to pass both at the same time. He almost wrecked Mark Martin. He slowed Carl Edwards up, and he cost Harvick two spots. After he finally wreck, he parked inches in front of the pit wall.

If Nascar was true to it's roots thier would still be a race at Rockingham, and thier would still be two races at Darlington. No driver from North Carolina won a single race last season, or this season. The last driver from North Carolina to win a race was Vickers, who wrecked a more popular driver from that state to steal the win.

First, I hate Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin not because they drive Toyota's, I hate them for other reasons. I have nothing against Toyota, and I happen to like Stewart, Vickers, and Blaney.

Second, I do not think anyone is afraid of Toyota because JGR is the ONLY good Toyota team. When Red Bull, Bill Davis, and Michael Waltrip Racing start to get in the top 20's and top 30's, then people may feel like Toyota is a threat. If you look at the points, Position 2-5 are Chevys, and 2nd, 4th, and 5th are the RCR cars. if anything, people should be more afraid of Burton, Bowyer and Harvick than all three of the JGR cars.

I agree with the Dale Jr. point. Plus Dale Sr would have done the same thing back in the day, heck he did it to Terry Labonte four times at Bristol. (once in the 80's, once in '95, and twice in '99) Many of the Dale Sr. fans who enjoyed the way he bumped other cars became Harvick fans after his death. I was a hardcore Dale Sr. fan, and I refuse to root for Dale Jr.

I was looking at another forum and a thread I saw was right on the money. Kyle Busch is not like Dale Earnhardt. He's like Ernie Irvan. Swervin' Irvan was reckless at times and wasn't too popular for a while but he eventually matured as a racer and he was respected by fellow drivers and fans.

There's still hope that Busch can grow up. But will that upset Mike Joy and Darrell Waltrip? They're smooching his behind every week the way he is right now. The only real Wild Thing is Ricky Vaughn from Major League.

Kyle leading by over 2 seconds and he calls his brakes pathetic. Yeah, way to go pal. Say stupid crap about your teams hard work as you're leading in the biggest motorsport in America.

This selfish brat will get what's coming to him and I can't wait to see it.

    ^Agree

I was disapointed in that race, everyone said it would be a race that would be exciting and it would be a wreckfest, but honostly it was first time I ever fell asleap during a race. I think that was one of the most boring Nascar race I have ever seen. Congrats to Travis Kvapil and Dave Blaney for top 10 finishes

Darlington was boring. Plus my sister and I had a fight so I couldn't watch it while steamed. I did watch the last few laps simply out of boredom. wasn't really surprised to be honest. If the rest of the season is going to be as boring as Darlingotn and Texas, I might as well just watch the last ten laps. *yawn*

That race didn't live up to all the hype that Speed was giving it when they started their countdown of the event in January. Then again, I never really was a fan of the all-star race anyway. Kind off odd hearing that crappy techno music during the invocation too but that's besides the point.

Oh, and good ol' DW bringing up the fact that he also had Budweiser on his car when he won the Winston over 20 years ago? Who cares? Just you. This guy's ego is dangerously huge. He thinks the sport revolves around him.

Anyway, here's what they need to change for next year, since it seems like the rules change every year anyway.

    1. Get rid of that stupid burnout competition. There's a reason only 5 of 43 guys entered it. It's pointless. The cars weren't even set up right for the competition according to the drivers, and the guys in the booth really didn't have a clue what was going on(nothing new though, of course).

    2. Concerning the shootout, why would you have the top 2 clinch a spot in the main race? We saw the reason why this rule shouldn't be in place. Sam Hornish was catching Allmendinger fast, but probably backed off to save his car. Um, I thought this was supposed to be a sort of checkers or wreckers night. You should only have the winner of that race locked in. Oh and nice interview with Allmendinger. He said it's like winning the Daytona 500? Yeah, beating the 2nd class drivers of the circuit in a 40 lap dash. We're all impressed. What about when he screwed up and put Sadler in the wall?

    3. Tone the big show crap down A LOT. In 5 hours, we saw 140 laps of racing. Cut out the driver intros. Yeah, they say it's about the crew, but they didn't name the crew guys, and the cameras were on the driver anyway. And I think we all know who the drivers are by now.

    4. Bring back eliminations in each segment. Guys are just riding around back there. It was much more exciting years ago when guys would fight for the positions that kept them from being eliminated in the race. I know what you're thinking: then there will only be like 5 cars out there at the end. Well, the way these COTs race, it wouldn't even matter.

    5. The final segment should not be 25 laps. It should be like a 5 lap dash. And that brings up another complaint: where was the phantom debris caution at the end? nascar has their all-star night and Speed is building it up to be the most epic event since World War II, yet they let it finish out under green with Kahne winning by like 4 seconds? Come on.

Well, I'm going to the Coke 600 next Sunday, and I hope it's a better show than this. I'm looking forward to going back to all of the teams garages more than anything. That, and indoor go-kart racing at The Pit in Mooresville. :D

Well, it seemed that everyone who had led a lot of laps cut their tires at one time or another during the race. Tony Stewart was on his way to winning when he cut a tire; Dale Jr cuts a tire and crashes into the wall but still ends up in 5th because he and Jeff Gordon (who finished 4th) ran 62 laps on one tank of gas. Carl Edwards ran out of gas on the last last and still ended up finishing in 9th place.

It was great to see Kasey Kahne win (even though I am not a fan of him). This win could definitely turn his season around.

I had a couple friends at the Dover race and they sent pictures of the track back before the big wreck. Then afterwards she sends a text saying that two of her drivers wrecked. That's gotta suck.

Jeff Burton is quietly amassing points I see.

NASCAR is starting *well, not really starting* to become very boring. And I'm not referring to Busch or Edwards alone competing for wins. I'm talking about the sport itself. Sheesh, can the announcers cover ANY more of Jr. this year???? I mean, the guy hasn't won a race in like two years. Get over it; he obviously doesn't have as much talent as Gordon, Stewart, Busch, or Johnson.

the races are boring because of the new car. And for the record, I hate Goodyear. As tony said, They can't build tires worth crap. At least, at least, at least, Tony and Denny were in one piece last Sunday instead of all torn to pieces like they were at Dover. if this is how the rest of the season's going to be, maybe I should quit NASCAR all together, especially if tony has as much bad luck as he's been having. and Busch's problems last weekend; wasnt' really surprised at and he needs to just stick with the Cup or Nationwide series. He's got talent but I think he's spreading himself a bit too thin.

I've been busy lately so I haven't been able to get on, but I had fun in Charlotte for the 600. Free food in our grandstand for 2 hours after the green flag was pretty awesome too. I think I had like 2 hot dogs and 4 burgers. Before the race my brother and sister almost got killed by Richard Petty, who was flying by on his scooter. They had to jump out of the way, no joke. And my brother said the king still had that smile on. Sometimes I think he has a permanent smile on his face like the Joker did in the first Batman movie.

As for the races being boring, it doesn't help that they were at Pocono last week, by far the most boring track on the circuit. Can't wait until they go back there, in what, 2 weeks? The fact that both races(they don't deserve 2) are in the summer is nonsense. It's a real shame the track won't be for sale.

Sorry for not posting in a while.

ALL rain shortened races should be stript from the record books. The strong cars today were Kevin Harvick, Earnhardt Jr., Tony Stewart and Jimmie Johnson. None of those drivers finished in the top 8. Kurt Busch did not have a good car today, Kurt Busch has not have a good car since Daytona, and Kurt Busch will not make the chase, but because of fuel and rain he is the winner today. just look at the top 10:

1 Kurt Busch (Bad car all year)
2 Michael Waltrip (Has never been good in a car that was not owned by DEI)
3 J.J. Yeley (Wait, he still has a ride with a team)
4 Martin Truex Jr. (Not a name that has been talked about much these days)
5 Elliott Sadler (Wow, where has he been)
    6 Reed Sorenson (Who?)
7 Casey Mears (I cannot comment on Casey Mears because he has was upfront for a bunch of laps today)
8 Denny Hamlin (He got the finish that he should have got)
9 Jimmie Johnson (I do not like him, but he should have won the race, or finish in the top 5)
10 Bobby Labonte (He ran ok today, but he probably did not have a top 10 car)

and you look at the drivers who had good cars today and where they finished
    7 Casey Mears
    8 Denny Hamlin
    9 Jimmie Johnson
    11 Jeff Gordon
    12 Jeff Burton
    13 Tony Stewart
    14 Kevin Harvick

Both Busch and JPM are idiots. That incident on the track could have involved other cars. They should have took their battle off the track. Not a good idea using these million dollar race cars as weapons. I really feel bad for the guys in the shops having to repair these things because of stupid incidents like this.
