I think it's very, very unlikely that Stewart will face any charges. I would still not be surprised if he sits the rest of this season - Burton is a great teammate and garage presence to help calm this team, including Danica and Harvick, who is extremely close to Tony and his family.

Another name Tony could call on is his old mentor from Gibbs, Bobby Labonte. Doing a time split between he and Burton would be good for everyone, and Tony could really step away for four or five months to seek help.

 

Jeff Gordon is driving tremendously. 3M is swapping sponsorship from Biffle to Gordon next year, as well.

Of the 23 events run this year, here are the wins per team:

Hendrick - 9 (48 x3, 24 x3, 88 x3)
Penske - 5 (2 x3, 22 x2)
Stewart/Haas - 3 (4 x2, 41)
Roush - 2 (99 x2)
Gibbs - 2 (18, 11)
JTG - 1 (47)
Petty - 1 (43)

Nobody stretches a dollar like Roger Penske. Two car Sprint garage, his drivers have banked almost 10 million in winnings so far. Roush and JGR really down this year, it feels like - JGR especially disappointing.

Don't think we will see him for a while. He is apparently very, very shaken by this, as I imagine most people are.

Nemechek and Sterling Marlin were really affected after Earmhardt's death, and they were in no way responsible - they just witnessed it up close.

 

He was, because of he and his brother's relationship with DEI and the Earnhardts, Michael and Dale Jr. were driving for Earnhardt. Fortunately, they were both far enough away not to really see the wreck- Marlin clipped his tail while Dale was blocking for Junior to spin him, and then Schrader's M&Ms car hit him broadside.

 

Hendrick has all 4 cars in the chase. Harvick had a good run until the nonsense at the end.

Grand Jury findings to be announced at 3 PM EST in the Stewart/Ward investigation.

 

Absolutely the right decision. Mr. Ward made a tragically stupid decision.

 

Kenseth physically attacked Keselowski after the race tonight. Nearly tackled him to the ground.
