Of course this doesn't belong on this forum, by its very title, but i thik this genre of tv has alot in common with fantasy/sci fi. Shows like survivor and the amazing race(among others) are set accross a foreign backdrop. The cast of characters contains "heroes" and "villians". Most shows require you to vote someone off, and the "amazing properties" found in fantasy or science fantasy is found in reality tv by how someone wields charisma to influence the game. One good example of an "epic" reality show is Big Brother 6(the us version). On that show, there was a war between good and evil, represented by the sovereign 6(really the sovereign 8, but 2 unfortunate victims perished before the good guys could unify) and the friendship, headed by a midget sized dictator. in week 3 the sovereigns finally took control of the game and out went that little midget dictator a@@hole. It was a thrilling momment for them, and the audience, honestly it was on par when Luke destroyed the death star. The war between good and evil lasted the rest of the game, with each side losing to theothers every week(they compete in a competition to see who gets to nominate people to get voted out). The bad side eventually won the game, but the good side won the war, as they got to go on the next season of big brother to compete yet again, with a years experience.
