I thought I'd start a thread to list the tutes we'd like to see on TFN.

I, for one, would like to know more about making that unique hand held zoom in action style camera work in climatic battle scenes of Episode II ... we recently saw an attempt of it on FALL OF THE JEDI.

How about some video tutorials on how to make lightsabre props? There are so many different ways to build these that we'd need more than one. I have my own way of building the hilts, but I'd be interested in seeing other techniques.

Also, some video tutorials on certain fighting styles would be nice. I'm working on writing one up now, starting with single blade choreography, and wrapping up with double sabre choreography. I'll be avoiding double-blade lightsabre altogether, as my abilities don't really lie on that end of the spectrum.

I agree with Comyn on the lightsaber construction and cheorography. One other tutorial I would like to see is the lightening from the ALD by Ryan Wieber :)

I wasn't talking about a choreography tutorial. I've known about that tutorial for awhile now. Anyonen with enough sense to look at the present tutorials would find that. I'm talking about video tutorials demonstrating certain styles of fighting, much like that link to the kungfu school PNick gave us.

I'd like to see a tutiorial on how to create FLYING EFFECTS.
Whether it be wire, greenscreen, bungee, whatever.

Along with it, the rotoscoping that goes along with wire removal and such.

EDIT: Low blow, Padawan ... low blow :_|

I would personally like to see a tutorial for...

    1) How to make a bustling cityscape such as the coruscant shots.

    2) How to create fire effects

    3) Some tutorials on sword fighting styles

    4) and I know I have more but it is time to go to work, good day everybody

Oh, and it would be great if they were all video tutorials, it is so much easier to watch how to do something than to read how to do it.

    1) A Video tutorial on how to pull a good matte from some tricky, fast moving footage.

To be honest, any video compositing tutorials from the forum comp gods would be great.

You know what we really want to see? Some Star Wars themed tutorials using blender. That is EXACTLY what I want to see. I don't care if it is force lighting or model an x-wing or how to blow a starship up. I just want to be able to learn blender techniques that can be aplied to star wars.

isn't that was everyone really wants?

I agree with WD!!! More free blender tutorials for something other than opening crawls!

I'd also like to have a tutorial on compression! As in what kinds of codecs are out there, what you would need to compress something. Or even just some general knowledge about it.

Obviously, I know nothing about compression...

As the fan film society grows more and more, we see more and more new people interested (including me) and since some of us are in the position that we cant afford expensive programs because we have to pay college, I'd liek to see more blender tutorials.

EDIT: Oh, and I'd like to see some video editing tutorials. Yeah, maybe its all a question of feeling and instinct, but for those not so into editing and more into CG like myself, editing would be something cool to get into...
