TV Remote Control

I have the Luke Skywalker Lightsaber TV Remote Control.

I can't find the directions and need to know how to set it to my new TV.

I can get it to scan the TV to find the correct frequency (shutting the TV off), but can't figure out how to set this frequencey.

Anyone that has the directions, could you help me out.

Since I'm a nice guy, I'll help you out. I have the Luke Lightsaber remote control too! What brand TV do you have? Also, if you have cable/satellite, then I need to know the manufacturer of your cable box.. same with your VCR. I need to know these things so I can come over and steal your stuff.. er, so I can look up the codes for you.

 

Well, the TV I am using it on is just a TV, no other hardware. It is a Sharp.

You can set the programming feature to auto, which I did successfully.

I just need to know the button(s) to press to set this setting.

I tried a bunch of combinations....ENTER, TV/ENTER, PRGM/TV/ENTER, ....you name it. None worked.

 

Ok, I've dug out the manual for the remote control..
Here's the proper way to program it for your TV.
1. Press the TV button (since you're programming it for the TV), LED flashes once.
2. Press the PRGM button, LED flashes twice.
3. Type in the 3-digit code, for Sharp TV's it one of the following: 142, 020, 132, 017. LED will flash once for every button pressed, or 3 times.
4. Press the PRGM button again, LED flashes 3 times.

If you're using the Auto-Search function, here's what you do:
1. Turn the device (TV, VCR, Cable/Sat) on manually.
2. Position the sound switch on the remote to "on".
3. Press the button corresponding to the device you want to program on the remote (TV, VCR, C/SAT). LED flashes once, Beeps once.
4. Press PRGM, 2 flashes, 2 beeps.
5. Point the remote at your device.
6. Press AUTO, 1 flash, 1 beep.
7. The remote will go through the entire library of codes it has to attempt to turn your device off.
8. When the device turns off, press PRGM, 1 beep, 3 flashes.
9. Check to see if the volume and CH+/- buttons work.
