Midnight Sun creeps me out. It's all about how vampiry Edward is. I love it, but it's creepy.

Is anyone else creeped out by the Entertainment Weekly cover on www.twilightlexicon.com?

 

I love Edward on the cover, he really looks like a vampire.

Bella however, is far to tan for my liking on the cover.

However I'm sure if I was standing next to him I would look really tan too and I'm very very pale.

That's what I think the explanation is. Hopefully Kristin Stewart will stop fake-baking for the films...

 

I... don't like the cover. They don't look Edward and Bella there. They look like actors, not the characters, if that makes sense. But then, it's a photoshoot, so you do what the photographers say.

 

I like Edward, but not Bella. She seems too...not ordinary? I dunno. It just doesn't look right to me.

Not only that, but they look like actors with no chemistry. Not because they have no chemistry, but because someone only had a vague idea of who those characters really are. Thank goodness for trailers and scenes so we know it's not that bad!

 

Yep. Never trust professional photographers to give you an idea of what a film is going to be like, eh?

The dress is very un-Bella like.

 

I find the EW cover hilarious (RPattz's ripped-open shirt and lovely violet lipstick scare me ), but I like the concept; it's clearly a play on the whole vampire romance genre, and as far as I'm concerned, photographers have the artistic license to branch out a bit from the characters' actual personalities in order to suggest something broader (in this case, sort of a reinvention of the genre).

 

I suppose so, I see your point. I'm still not a fan of it.

I did, however, like the apple in Kristen's hand. Nice reference back to the cover of Twilight.

 

The apple is my favorite part of the picture; it's a great tie-in.

 

I thought the apple looked...I don't know...out of place I guess. And when I went back to look at it, Edward seemed more a poorly informed actor then a vampire.

I'm just glad I still have the books and my mental picture to sustain me until December.

That's horrible cover on EW imo. Edward looks...well...dead.
But not in the Vampire sense. He's so frggin pale. I don't know. Not the way I pictured Edward.
And I really don't like Bella. She looks more like a seductress than a seventeen year old high school kid.

Thank goodness it's only photoshoot.

I keep having this feeling that they'll mess it up.

 

You´re right, the cover looks really strange.
The pale shirt together with the pale skin......

Fortunatly they both look totally diffrent in the movie.
I was pretty afraid they´ll mess it up, too. But the teaser trailer was awsome, imo.
I´m not completly convinced they won´t mess it up, yet. But I´ve been positivly suprised quite a few times already. [face_hope]

 

From what I've read and seen on the movie, they aren't changing much about it. The problems are that most of the story is in Bella's head and there really isn't a way to portray that accurately. What Meyer writes in ten pages can be put in movie in five to ten seconds. They are adding a few crucial scenes to make up for that.

I don't think Meyer would let them make the movie if it wasn't going to be TWILIGHT. She wants the characters to be accurate as well as the story line. If she likes it, then I think there won't be too much disappointment, other than the usual 'movie left out this and this' stuff.
