SWRPF Archive Two Realities Collide

Hey people! This is my first rpg, so please not too harsh on the feedback please. Actually, go ahead i'd appreciate it. Anyway, this is an rpg where somehow the star wars galaxy and the our galaxy are the same. Since there is the unknown regions in the star wars galaxy, i'm going to say that the republic or empire send out some explorers out there and discover our solar system along with Earth. I was thinking we don't mention anything about the movies as if they never existed because i think that makes it more interesting. Before we begin i want some feedback on should we allow the movies to exist or pretend they never did exist? Also, i don't care what the timeline is, so i want you to decide. Though it probably would make more sense if it happened after the Yuuzhan Vong invasion. Once we have that decided we can start.

The rules: no god-moding, don't use characters from the movies or books, but you can mention them and so forth, no fighting, watch the profanity, if you are from Earth act normal and yes you can be force-sensitive, finally have fun!

I smell a lock coming on, but since mitth (or was it yomin?) who created a cross-over game, maybe this one will last. Can I be Bush?

 

actually, your probably right, it might get locked. oh well, since i didn't mention anything about playing real people....still no! Haha. That would be interesting though. Want to make any bets about how long this will last?

 

Whenever I take bets I end up losing in some horrible and disasterous way, so i'm going to have to pass this one up. Maybe theres some other forum where I can play Bush....

 

Since i'm bored and therefore still logged on, i think i'll post again already. Well, sorry you can't play bush. Lol Maybe you can play him somewhere else.... Anyway, if you want i guess you could say your character is related to bush in someway, or even be his long lost brother or cousin whatever. Lol But i guess it doesn't matter since this might get locked really quick. Oh well gotta move on.

This rpg sounds like a good idea. I don't see any reason it'd be locked.
As to your vote on the movies. Why not let 'em exsist, but maybe the Terran charactors don't tell the SW type people about them, they wouldn't get it ;-)

 

This looks like it would be fun. Unfortunately, I'm a bit busy with other RPG's, so I likely won't be able to do anything here.

If it survives until I get out of a couple of RP's I'll join it then.

I don't think it should be banned. And if it is, I have a place where it can be played out without worrying about banning.

 

Hey thanks people. its good to know that other people like my idea as well. I hope your right about it being not banned. Anyway, i like your idea about the SW movies Jauhzmynn. Now, i need to just wait for some more people and to decide on the timeline, I mean for the SW people of course. After that we can start rping and make characters to do that! Looks over concept

I agree; this in no way contravenes the forum rules, and is to be allowed if the creator wishes to progress with it.

I would like to state however, that;

1)Whilst I appreciate senior RPers helping out newcomers, opening posts declaring that "this will be locked" etc are unneccessary. I will gladly worry about locking, editting etc so you can all go about your Role Playing without a care in the world.

2) Conversations are obviously permitted as an "Out of Character" (OOC) component of any RPG, at the GameMaster's descretion. But simple chat I'm afraid, must be consigned to the RPF's Social Thread, "Hooper McFinneys".


Always assume an RP will be allowed, to help it grow and build up at this crucial stage of its development. If it is to be locked, so be it, but before such a judgement is made it is best to actually get moving, post character bios and set up a scenario.

To Darth_Elu: Your RPG as I have said, is fine. Yet it does skirt periliously close to defined borders of "no-go" in this forum.

This seems to be primarily a Star Wars Role Playing Game, without cross-over from other fictional franchises: hence I'm allowing it to stay. The Earth interaction would be no different to say, a "Chiss Invasion" type RP, as a canonical reference in the movies does state, that Earth is in the same universe as the SW Galaxy.

(Ref: Star Wars I, II, -, IV, V, VI) "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..."

Hence, continuity and Star Wars integrity is not breached, and this RP can continue.

But if any non-SW interaction occurs such as LOTR inceptions or Star Trek cross-over, it'll probably be locked. If you or anyone else has concerns or questions concerning this matter, feel free to PM or IM me and we can discuss it.

OOC: Alright, thanks for the info Protege-Of-Thrawn. The simple chat is gone. Now since that is over with, i've decided that this rpg will occur a year after the Yuuzhan Vong invasion. So here's my character.

Bio: Irvine Shadowfox is a jedi knight that was accepted into Luke Skywalker's academy near the end of the Yuuzhan Vong invasion and is one of the few jedi sent to Earth after it was discovered to welcome them into the republic and tell them about jedi, but they don't know about Earth's secret..... Irvine is very well in touch with the force and is excellent with lightsabers. He is currently making a new prototype design of a lightsaber...who knows what it will look like.

1. will Earth weapons be allowed? or will they be modified with SW-technology?

2. How does earth look like? goverment system? is it like today? has humans colonised other planets? Space travell and so furth.

I would like to have these questions answered before I join.

 

Oooh this could be fun, I do have a couple questions and maybe suggesitons.


1 Who is discovering the system. you put a couple names up but you should decide on one first, because they direct two very diffrent situations. If it were the republic they would probly make a pecful first contact, estpablishing communications, then sending ambassidors to learn and maybe someday acept them into the Republic.
The emprie would probly try to to turn us into a slave planet were we destroy the earth mining its resources for its needy fleets and stuff, this would cause lots of war and fighting, so as you see two very diffret scenarios.

2. Technology level, do you mean earth to be played in as todays standard of technology and events? or do you mean to Make them more advanced? My personal opinion on this matter is Todays level, I think it would be funner.

3. If this does get off the ground, can I be a shuttle pilot?!? I mean the Columbia tragedy is still kinda new, but I think it woudl be fun to fly up in those shuttles and be someone who pushes the fronter of space for humanity ever further. Its still a shame we lost it, but I think it would be fun to be on one when the first aliens arrive and make contact, though then if its the empire gotta hope they dont come and outright blow us up, wouldnt stand much of a chance.

For the movies, I say dont have them exist, it would just be too freaky to have movies of aliens who then come and visit or attempt to conqure you, it takes away all of the fun and everything else.


Anyway thats it for now, you got a fun idea going, and also I created my first rp not too long ago, it was ok, kinda died quickly, but im always willing to help out when needed, its fun.

 

OOC: Thanks for your interest Overlord and Detjen. The Earth is just like today, so you know the rest when it comes to government and etc. Earth weapons will be around to use, though of course the people of SW will help try to modify them. They'll probably still be used non-modified though. So basically both, Overlord. Yes, of course i did kind of forgot to mention this, but it's the republic that finds Earth. If the empire did, that would be a disaster. Can you be a shuttle pilot? Yea, of course. Any jobs on Earth today and professions in the SW galaxy.

There really isn't a plot right now, just a setting. The plot and what happens will be decided by the players themselves. I hope you join.

Question Could we make it that from the Star Wars Galaxy I am on a mission something goes wrong with my hyperdrive I end up on Earth and I'm the one who contacts the Republic and leads them here?

People would Think Im some loonty fella who thinks he is a Jedi but a few would Believe me.. Then eventually The republic would send a ship of ambasadors?

We of the Galactic Empire resent that! Just because we're war crazy doesn't mean we can't approach a situation peacefully! Besides, we wouldn't threaten the planet ourselves anyway! We'd use infiltration and subtle tactics to start a war on the planet and pretend to be saviors by ending it!

Hehe. I'll probably be among the first ones to "greet" the N00b Republic in a F-16 after NASA detects the craft!!!
