I've never done a fantasy sports thing at all.... I feel guilty for considering one for football before I have done one for my first love, baseball.

 

Done my team. Looks quite amusing I'm not in any way biased towards one team...

 

Maybe I will take a look at this. My brother says Fantasy Baseball is crazy involved and takes a lot of time.

I've never done a fantasy football tournament before either. I signed up, though. Apparently you can't pick your team until May 30. Can I change players during the tournament?

I picked my team too, though I think that was just for the friendly run. I'll be starting it up properly tomorrow, as yankee has pointed out the teams won't be official 'till then.

Yankee: I think you can change players during a tournament, though I'm not sure what the limit is. In fantasy premier league it is usually one free transfer per gameweek, anything else will cost you points.

Yeah, I think the picks now are just for the friendlies.

Spike: Will there then a be "group" of some sort the we each belong to (like for the NCAA BAsketball pool), or just each of us against the rest orf the world, compare scores at the end.

Kind of important to know how often you can change players, otherwise guessing who will get far in the tournment becomes key -- and very risky to pick players from the teams in Group C (France, Italy, HOlland and Romania), each a potential favorite to win the tournament, each could get knocked out in the group stage.

 

Yankee, we're running two competitions. A league based game, and a Single Pick based game.

Not sure about player transfers yet. I'm going to ask the FF-UKer who ran the Fantasy World Cup game in 2006 how it was done.
