UEFA Euro 2008 Football/Soccer

That's what everyone wants to believe.

I will be pulling against Italy for sure but...

 

Good match today! The boys were much more in form than the previous two matches.

 

So ... I caught the last ~20 minutes of the Turkey-Croatia game.

If soccer could always be that captivating, I'd be a fan.

Of course, I've come to believe that part of the problem is that here in the State it's difficult to get regular exposure to the best players in the world. It'd be like expecting Europeans to love baseball by constantly being exposed to AA-baseball players and over-the-hill veterans.

 

Yep, that's exactly the problem. I was fortunate enough to go to a handful of European games last year (from La Liga in Spain, Ligue 2 in France), and watch a good bit more. But most Americans don't have the opportunity to see high quality soccer on a regular basis, for even a short time. It can be really exciting, especially when attending the games.

 

But even if you get that coverage of leagues like The premier league they games are not as captivating because the games don't have as much importance since the season is 38 games.

Great match between Spain and Italy. Well played by both sides.

 

So NBA and the Major Leagues are not exciting at all? They play a hell of a lot more games than the Premier League.

And every game is important...the final difference between the top 2 was only 2 points. That's one game.

 

yeah I know, Im saying that it will turn away many non fans if they expect each match to be as compelling. and I am a fan

 

I've caught the last few games and have really enjoyed it.

 

I figured the Turkey/Germany match would have reprecussions in Deutschland...given the number of Turks that work there, which I understand to be high.

 

Time to break some Spanish hearts!
