Saga Union Blessing (AOTC AU, Obi-Wan, Anakin VIGGIE)

Title: Union Blessing
Summary: Takes place directly near the end of AOTC. A missing scene of Anakin and Obi-Wan

"Master, can I please speak with you?"

"Anakin, I'm about to speak with the Council," Obi-Wan replied, trying to avoid Anakin as he blocked
his path infront of the Jedi Council chamber room. "You're welcome to come inside with me. We could
speak after that."

"I can't!"

Obi-Wan frowned and looked up at his Padawan. There was something in the boy's voice that was
curious. It was as if he was hiding something but wasn't certain if he wanted to.

"Why ever not, Anakin?" Obi-Wan demanded.

"I'm going to escort the Senator home, Master." Anakin said. "She needs me with her. There still is a
grave danger on her life."

"Why do I sense that is not the complete truth, Anakin?" Obi-Wan asked firmly. "Tell me what is really
going on! What are you hiding?"

"Fine!" Anakin snapped. "But know that nothing you say is going to stop me from going to Naboo with
her. I need to be with her."

"Fine!" Obi-Wan snapped back coldly. "Talk!"

"When we arrive to Naboo I'm going to ask Senator Amidala to be my wife."

"Anakin, you know that is forbidden." Obi-Wan argued. "They'll kick you out of the Order if you marry
her. I won't even able to protect you this time. Don't throw away your whole life here."

"My life is hers." Anakin whispered passionately. "I love her, Master."

Obi-Wan shook his head and stared into his Padawan's eyes.

"I know you do, Ani." Obi-Wan sighed deeply. "But it will never work. Why did you think I did
everything to ensure you never saw eachother as you were growing up? I knew how you felt about her.
Even when you were a little boy you were in love with her. But this will never work out Anakin. Don't
go with her to Naboo. End it now!"

"No." Anakin said. "I would die first. Please support this Master. I know this is right. This was destined
to be. I've dreamed of marrying her since I was a little boy. She was destined to be my wife. I know I'm
still destined to be a great Jedi Knight too. Please support this master?"

"I cannot not support this Anakin." Obi-Wan declared sadly as he seen the anger in his Padawan's eyes.
" I know how much you love her, but I know how deeply you've dreamed of being a Jedi too. I cannot
support anything that would ruin that for you."

"I'll prove you wrong, Master." Anakin smiled sadly. "You'll see."

Anakin started to walk away. Padme was waiting for him in the Hanger bay.

"Anakin!" Obi-Wan called after him.

Anakin looked back at him with hope in his eyes.

"Master?"

"I won't tell them." Obi-Wan said. "Not yet, anyway. I'll leave that up to you when you return with your
wife."

"Thank you, Master." Anakin smiled in his happiness that Obi-Wan was going to let him go without a
fight to Naboo and do what he knew was right. "Thank you."

Anakin knodded to Obi-Wan once more before leaving the corridor with his worried master staring
after him.

 

I love this. I will be wondering till 2005 if something like this actually happens.

Again this was very good. I can see this story being added to in the future perhaps. See if anakin does come back and tell the council or how long before Obiwan has to, like someone else finding out and telling the council. Oh well we shall see.

 

That was so in character for both of them, so plausibly a part of the storyline. You did a great job with this possibility.
