Census UNO -- Game in progress!

Welcome to UNO!

The rules are relatively simple, but because of the complications of playing "long-distance", there are some points that players should review before playing. But if you follow those, we should all be in for a smooth, fun, and fast-paced game of UNO!!


Teh Deck

1. The deck consists of cards of 4 colors: red, green, blue, and yellow.

2. The ranks in each color are 0-9.

3. There are 3 "action" cards in each color, labeled skip, draw two, and reverse.

4. There are also special black action cards: wild and wild draw four.

5. There are two copies of each colored regular and action card, except for the zero card, of which there is only one per suit.

6. There are four wild and wild draw four cards each, producing a total of 108 cards.


Teh Rules

1. Seven cards will be PM-ed to each player. The cards will look something like this:

2. After the players have all received their cards, the top card of the stock is exposed to start the discard pile. The discard pile would appear as one card. For example

The draw pile will be managed by an actual deck of cards that the host will maintain in order to keep track of the game. If you must draw a new card, post

draw

and a card will be PM-ed to you.


3. The game will proceed with each person taking turns in the order in which they signed up. For example, if I signed up first, I would play a card first, followed by the individual who signed up second, then the user that signed up third, and so on until we reach the end of the list. When that occurs, we return to the top of the list, provided a card does not reverse the order.


4. During each turn, a player may play a card from their hand that matches the color or rank of the top exposed card, or play a wild or wild draw four. For instance, if my deck consisted of the hypothetical cards mentioned earlier,

5. If a player has no legal card to play, that player posts

draw

and a card will be PM-ed to them. They may either play this card or place it in their hand. If they choose not to play it, they must let the other players know by posting

draws the top card of the stock, and may either play it or place it in their hand.


6. If a player decides not to play a card, preferring to draw instead, they must indicate this by posting

pass


7. If an "action" card is played, the player whose turn would be next under normal circumstances must follow the directions on the card. For example, if I played,

the next player must draw two, and his continues. He must post either a blue card or a different draw two card.


8. After the stock is emptied, the discard pile is shuffled and turned over to replenish the stock.


9. The game continues in the same fashion until a player has one card left. When this occurs, and another user notices it before the individual with one card notices, that user may post

UNO!

and the user with one card would have to draw two. If the user with one card realizes this and posts

UNO!

Alright everyone, let's play UNO!

Your cards will be PM-ed to you. Master Monkey will start us off, and then we'll proceed according to the order in which you guys signed up for the game -- that is, of course, unless someone plays a card that reverses the order.

Quick note:

According to the sign-ups, the order was to be:

That means that each player must wait before the player before them makes a move, before they are allowed to do anything.

So Gunny, SW Freak should have gone before you made a move.

That's ok! This is the first game. But just be cautious.

SW Freak, you can go next. Then Master Monkey will go again, and the game will continue. This provided SW Freak's card doesn't reverse the order.

Don't worry about it, Gunny.

A new rule has been implemented to ensure that the game keeps moving in the event that someone is unable to post. You will be given 24 hours in which to make your move and, if you do not post in 24 hours, your turn will be skipped. If you miss your turn 3 times, you are disqualified from the game.

NOTE: This is the last time I am posting for another player. It's unacceptable for a player who does not want to miss the 24 hour mark to ask me to play their card for them. I did what was requested this time, because I wanted to give you one more heads-up, but from now on, you all have to play your own cards.

 

So I believe it's LilyHobbitJedi's turn, right?

 

Yeah I think it might be mine, but I'm not sure since it said draw 2 and I didn't get any cards.
