    - I really find the Solo kids to be annoying and uninteresting
    -Shatterpoint isn't that great
-I prefer Leia the politician/diplomat to Leia the unemployed and direction-less grandmother
-I find Luke infinitely boring post-NJO
.....I'll think of more, I'm sure.

Me too! Take that, Vampire Weekend. :p

I don't get all the fuss over the Solo brothers. I honestly don't get it. While I never wanted to see them die, I can truly say that I don't miss either one.

I'm indifferent when it comes to Jaina.

    Vader is overrated.

I wish Mara had never become a Jedi. I would have preferred she remain a businesswomen.

I'm the biggest Luke fan girl around and I am so ready for him to retire to a tropical island somewhere. He needs to step way back.

Han and Leia need to go away. Just go away.

I've never liked Boba Fett. Even before Traviss showed up.

I hate the prequel/clone wars era. All of it.

    I can't stand Allana.

I like Ben but I pretty much hated just about everything about his portrayal in FotJ.

Star by Star is overrated. Hate that book.

I feel bad for saying this but I don't really miss Chewie.

    I like Ewoks.

    Unpopular opinions in Lit:

    - I like The Clone Wars. A lot.

    - I don't care about continuity as long as a good story is told.

Why, because it couldn't best the DESB or because Publius already did it?

Because comics are not inherently inferior to prose. That DE exists only as a comic doesn't make it defective.

True- but prose can include more in the way of "inner monologue" than is usual for comics.

    - I really enjoyed both Children of the Jedi and Planet of Twilight
    - I can't stand Kyle Katarn, I find him incredibly boring
    - I only want to see more Mandos if they're humiliated and marginalized and that includes both Boba and Jango Fett who annoy the living hell out of me
    - I also enjoyed the Revan novel, I found it a fun read

    Here's an old one:

I would have much preferred Luke to get back together with a non-Force-sensitive Callista, simply because of the story potential and the supremely weird way Callista came into his life, the EU and the post-GCW era in the first place.
Think of it: a former Old Republic Jedi, without Force powers but with lots of knowledge about the OJO at Luke's side to help him build the NJO... AND a perpetually ambiguous Mara still being around, as a much more interesting character than the descoundrelized totally-Light Side Mara we got post-HoT...

Totally forgot about this! I like the most recent editions of the Star Wars original trilogy best! And don't really mind the changes at all!

I really enjoyed Lando Calrissian and the Mindharp of Sharu.

Vuffi Raa was one of my favorite droids.

Troy Denning has done wonderful things for the EU.

Scoundrels is amazing. I was fortunate enough to receive an Advance Reader Copy at the Del Rey panel at CVI, and I think its Zahn's best book since the Thrawn Trilogy.

Rogue Planet is the closest the EU has ever come to turning out a true masterpiece.

Survivor's Quest was the book that made me decide to stop reading the EU as it came out. I haven't started again since. It's just one of the most blatantly insulting books of the entire EU. I developed and still have a straight-up personal antipathy for Timothy Zahn because he allowed his good name to be put on such a disastrously awful book.

It's the most purely character driven work of the EU. Tarkin, Sienar, Ke Daiv, Obi-Wan and Anakin are all fully fleshed out, living, breathing characters and we get totally inside all of their heads. It's true not a lot happens in Rogue Planet, but it's the almost the only EU book where it's about the characters genuine internal lives and they all ring absolutely true. I could do with more of that. Stackpole thinks you just say "I" a lot and you've got a story about internal being. Nope. Rogue Planet is really kind of a perfect book and it's one book in the EU that I would recommend to non-Star Wars fans as a book they could read and appreciate on a purely literary level. It feels like an actual "work of literature" and not just pulp. I love pulp, but I appreciate someone giving us a book about the soul too.

    Unpopular opinions, I have a few... [face_devil]

    1. I like Starkiller. I don't care for the romance subplot, but I like Starkiller as a character.

    2. I don't care for Jedi!Leia. I like her as a politician better then a Jedi, because we already have enough Jedi running around. Not everyone who is Force-sensitive needs a glowstick.

    3. I wish Luke never had kids or got married. Luke doesn't need a genetic legacy, he needs a spiritual one. Centuries after a person's last descendant dies, does anyone think of their greatest achievement lies in being who they were descended from? No. They think of that person who managed to achieve in the first place. And with the Jedi Council perpetually in shambles now, there doesn't need to be another Skywalker, but the Skywalker that sets up a lasting foundation.

    4. I don't like Mara. 'Nuff said.

    5. The Gungans don't really bother me, even Jar Jar.

    6. I like Ahsoka, I think she's cool.

I could never really see Starkiller as a character proper... but I did enjoy some parts of the TFU2 novelization, especially the Resident Evil-esque Starkiller clones dilemma and the scene in the cave on Dagobah... *ducks*
