I don't think Vader should've been written as Luke's father and I don't think the Emperor should've been anything more than a political figurehead.

I didn’t know this was unpopular. I thought it was generally accepted that both the Jedi and Sith are stronger in the OT when compared to the PT. After all, they have been given more time to train.

They all embraced minimalism in the intervening years.

Lando Calrissian shoulda been a villain, the mirror opposite of Han Solo.

And Samuel Jackson would have been better cast and much more convincing as Count Dooku. I just don't see him as a Jedi at all, much less the greatest Jedi saber-slinger during the Clone Wars.

Darth Revan should be a black female and the Jedi Exile should be an Asian/Pacific Islander-looking male.

I think Anakin and Padme's love story in AOTC is better excuted than Han and Leia's in TESB.

I love the Original Star Wars, but dont recognize the other 5 SW movies. I think ESB is an entertaining movie, but once Vader became Luke's father, I always thought that was a stretch. The sequels and prequels just kept piling on plot points that pretty much made the original one big lie, especially everything that Obiwan said. In my SW universe, nobody is related, Vader killed Luke's father, and the story ends once the Death Star is blown up.

I am new to the boards, so I assume I am of the minority opinion of this year?

I'm not sure if this is unpopular or not but...

Vader should've never killed The Emperor.

You mean he should have lived, or someone else should have killed him?

Unrelated to the above post: If they're going to let the Chosen One prophecy remain unfulfilled in the ST, they should feel free to resurrect Palpatine.

Probably based on my love of the classic sci fi films and serials which inspired the saga... my favorite name out of all the installments is The Phantom Menace.

That's pretty epic. I don't think I've ever met anyone who thought that before. Not that it's a bad thing though, to each their own I guess. I wasn't alive during the OT so I started with ROTJ :p

I agree. Not necessarily because of the original serials (I unfortunately haven't seen very much of that stuff), but The Phantom Menace is easily my favorite title from the saga. The other ones just seem a bit obvious in comparison.

Post ESB-Father-Vader SW is a case of "The Incredible Shrinking Universe", so I agree with you. That being said, I still think that the original SW allowed room for more movies/sequels, it's just the story direction they eventually took the series in. They could have had sequels that still adhered to the "big" galactic universe of SW, where everyone-isn't-related-to-you-know-who.

I wish they had never done Jabba's palace. Would have been awesome to see them track down Fett somewhere, and a fight against him to save Han.
