I HATE aotc too!
You quoted an entire post just to say that??
The Empire Strikes Back isn't the best movie in the saga.
The PT is just as good as the OT.
ROTS is better than ANH and ROTJ both.
ROTS is a more climactic ending to the saga than ROTJ.
The PT is great. It does have flaws but is no where near as bad as some people say it is.
ANH can be a tad bit boring.
I could care less for Boba Fett. Jango is way better!
Jango Fett should've been in ROTS.
Luke is my least favorite of the Big 3.
I like Anakin over Luke.
I prefer Padme slightly over Leia.
Tarfful is awesome!
So is Jar Jar.
And Salacious Crumb.
I really like the Ewoks.
I don't really like Lapti Nek that much but do love the club mix version.
Victory Celebration is so much better than Yub Nub. By FAR.
TPM is really good.
I like kotor more than than the movies
Most of the PT duels look stupid Yoda vs Sidious and Qui Gon Obi Wan vs maul are really good the rest are terrible.
You just named most of the PT duels lol.
LOL only one fourth of them. There are eight duels in the PT.
A 'hard, rough life of slavery?'
Yeah, Anakin's life as a slave wasn't exactly floggings, starvation and sleeping in a barn with the dogs. He & Shmi had it pretty good with Watto - didn't really make the impact it should have.
Yet another wasted opportunity, this piece of speculation from Fantastic Films magazine in 1980 managed to not only anticipate a PT plot point, but even improve on it, IMHO:
The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones were AWESOME!
A New Hope SUCKED!
Please elaborate. The smiley face isn't a 'get out of jail free card'.
Well as I'm sure some other people have seen in another thread I think ANH is slow paced, boring and very dated. It's a once a year watch, if that.
On the other hand I could watch TPM and AOTC loads! So much more actiony and exciting!
I'm not sure that 'actiony' is a real word, but whatever floats your boat.
Ummm...yea actually. Thats right. A hard, rough life of slavery. I didn't need (or want) to see a little boy getting brutalized and beaten on the screen in front of me or whatever in order to feel the gravity of the situation. Thats also a jarring departure from the kind of film SW is. Slavery is wrong and inhuman in every way. Any kind of slavery. And no Anakin and his mother didn't "have it good" in any way. They were slaves. They were left by the crappy system to work all their lives until they eventually die of poverty. Thats more unjust, depressing (and when it comes to this country...relatable actually) than any gratuitous physical beating or whipping could ever be.
For me what was going on in the scene when that innocent little boy got let go by his mother was more powerful and important and meaningful than anything we saw in Episodes 4,5 or 6.
ANH is pretty exciting man. It as much action as TPM and sets the stage for the OT pretty well. But I enjoy AOTC the most out of the three.
You know what I mean! lol
Didnt need or want. Kind of like Vader igniting his light sabre in front of a clutch of hiding younglings and then later seeing them all lying dead on the floor then?
I thought Dooku and Grievous served their purpose and strengthened ROTS. ROTS is not as good of a film as ROTJ however.
I think TPM is a really entertaining film. It was my favorite Star Wars film once, actually.
Saw it when I was like 5 or 6 years old back in 1999 at the movies. Loved it back then, still do to this day.
I haven't posted in this thread yet so here goes...
- Episode 1 is very underrated
- Episode 4 is kind of boring at points
- 3P0's puns in episode 2 are hilarious
- The love story of Anakin and Padme is better than Leia and Han
I ship Anakin and Padme.
Leia doesn't look that hot in the slave bikini. I think it's the hair.
Grievous is a terrible character.
I didn't think he was terrible, but wimpy.
Alot of the lightsaber battles in the PT were to short.
