Saga Unpopular Star Wars opinions!

Episodes I-III weren't poorly written at all.

 

Personally I think it's the presentation and execution of the PT that is lacking over all.

 

James Luceno is one of the best Star Wars authors.

 

Boga the lizard was a better actor than Harrison Ford in 4, 5, or 6.

But Han Solo is still my second favorite character. To me, the acting in Star Wars is not a relevant factor in my enjoyment.

 

A New Hope has my least favorite soundtrack of all the films, but I also recognize that it was the very first Star Wars soundtrack ever and I think Williams hit his stride from the middle of Empire Strikes Back and beyond. I am also not a big fan of the Battle of Hoth theme. My favorite piece of Star Wars music is the Luke and Leia theme from Return of the Jedi.

 

Personaly I think it's the presentation and execution just as writting that makes Episodes I-III so brilliant films.

 

I want a Weazel spin-off film which would serve as an in-universe parody of Willow; featuring a three-headed Hutt instead of a three-headed dragon, among other things. That would be beyond funny, plus there has got to be a way to have Boga in it. Boga!

 

I like Lando Calrission more then Anakin. Mainly because I find him more likable, as well as not too overly serious.

 

Qui-Gon Jinn is an important character and it is better that Obi Wan Kenobi was a Padawan in Episode 1 The Phantom Menace.

 

I think Qui-Gon had the potential to be an important character but that it gets muddled by execution going on film alone. I would've preferred Master Obi and teen Ani in PM.

 

Qui-Gon had a huge potential and he fulfiled it for 100% by brilliant writting, directing, acting and the overal exectuion.

 

I was so happy that we saw him in The Clone Wars Mortis Trilogy and Yoda arc.
(I also like how Obi Wan mentioned(A death on Utapau) that Qui Gon used travel alone on his own )

 

Do you suppose that is a popular, or an unpopular opinion?

 

This is a Out of Universe thing :
I really despise how many parts of the fandom behave on the Internet and how media presents that most people (clearly not) Love one thing and HATE the other (cough Episodes I-III cough) and that people say mostly what they think is bad,state it as a fact and don't explain anything at all.

 

I dislike this, too. I like all six films, I happen to be a fan of a species people are more or less groomed into disliking for being cute and not starwarsy enough and I don't get it. We should think with our own brains, not take what somebody else said for granted.

Buuuut...

You know those people who say that their favourite bands now suck, that the lyrics on the most recent album is "retarded", that the singer is no longer funny onstage...

...you will see them in front row, banging their heads, screaming like bats on steroids and crying if the said singer winks at them.

 

You know that reminds me of something really funny

The other day, a friend of mine and I were talking about SW, and out of nowhere, he's like "Oh, by the way, I watched the prequels over the weekend, and...." blah blah, basically he pointed out the acting, "over-reliance" on CGI, dialogue, stuff like that

So I asked, "I see. And how did you come up with these criticisms?"
"I read them from other people online"
And my case was closed

(Coincidentally, I showed him some reviews from '77-'83 that bashed the OT for the exact same reasons, just there was no internet to fan those flames and SW had been nearly forgotten before the PT's announcement. He hasn't mentioned anything about SW since)

 

Exactly I like Ewoks and Gungans and if someone says that I'm stupid or inaccurate because there are no arguments for liking them, then I try to explain how wrong they are,but it almost doesn't work.
Ad populum is really a piece of ....
Anyway :
1.Cuteness and Darkness belong both into Star Wars.
And I have to point out , what about Jawas and R2-D2 people... Eh
Because of them ANH should be R-rated ... LOL(but no its ANH and ESB that are holy anything after that started to go downhill )

Which is a real shame where there are good things about the Internet.

 

Like the JCF which is one of the reasons I stuck around with SW.

 

JCF is certainly one the more friendlier places on the internet. Where people can have different opinions without getting bashed ( cough youtube comments cough).

 

-I don't like the Slave Leia thing
- I don't like X-wings, Y-wings, or the Tie-fighters
- I don't like the orange rebel flight suit
-Han Solo is overrated
-I don't care for the whole Jabba's palace part of ROTJ much
-Leia isn't a good role model

 

Sadly even here , you get bashed sometimes.

 

Yeah, it doesn't happen very often here, but it still happens. But as long where respectful of each other and don't take things to personally or seriously then this will still be a good place to chat about star wars.
