Roch, NY UNY-Con 2005

UNY-Con, the gaming convention we attended last fall, is updating their site, http://www.uny-con.com. It is scheduled for December 9-11, 2005 at the Clarion Hotel Riverside downtown.

 

Well, I suppose we don't have anything else that weekend...
Although I'm not sure that I'd want to do all 3 days this year. Maybe just Saturday.
I'm too stressed out about Astronomicon to think past that at the moment.

How are these dates comparing to the Village Gate Toy Show?

Don't they usually hold it in early December?

 

I'll check the sheet I have tonight and I'll post the VGS date.

I posted this on the Echo Base forums as well as the Upstate NER boards, so I apologize if you see this three times. But I'm looking for some feedback so let me know what you think. Thanks!

Dan from UNY Con sent me an email this morning and asked if we'd be interested in attending again this year. He said, "You greatly added to the quality and atmosphere of the show and we would love to include you once again. "

Is anyone up for this?

I know things were kind of slow last year, so maybe doing the entire weekend is a bit much. We could try for just Saturday if people are interested, or if the majority is interested in doing the weekend, we could do that again to.

Let me know your thoughts.

Yeah, someone just mentioned this at the meeting this afternoon...
I would be fine with just doing Saturday, but I would really rather not "waste" my whole weekend there. Especially right on the heals of Astronomicon.

Yeah, I'd prefer doing one day for this as well. There just was just a lot of down time last year and with it being close to the holidays I know a lot of people have this going on as well.

 

If people go, the Wingnut will be there to photograph it.

Still waiting to hear back from the organizers on this...I've sent a few emails and I'm begining to feel ignored.

I'm going to start looking for a phone number so we'll know what's going on...

 

I'd be up for it. I wonder if it will go on though since the pricing is still TBA nearly a month before the con.

 

Just found out from the Chairman of Astronomicon that UNY-Con is cancelled. It's too bad we found out so late! It would've been great to get some of the NYC folks that were thinking of coming up for UNY-Con to come to Astronomicon (especially the Costuming Panel) instead.

I'm a pit annoyed the Dan never bothered to return ANY of my emails. He sent the first one and I've tried several times to respond.

Grr.

Anyway, glad someone knows what's going on.
