These sound really cool! I've been a fan of Star Wars LEGOs for as long as I can remember. The only bummer is, no pictures on the site. And what the heck is the Phantom? Ghost's sister ship?

Without knowing anything at all about these characters... I approve of the names. Appropriate for the franchise.

My cousin just named her kid Ezra. I can't wait to let her know that she accidentally named him after a Star Wars character.

...to which her reaction will probably be "lol wut?"

Nah, seriously...I'm glad the names are kind of "real world" and not so off-the-wall. Star Wars naming has gotten to be kind of a joke. First syllable of your first name, last syllable of your last name, first syllable of your mother's maiden name. And...go.

I'm pretty sure thats the Ghost ship. Wasn't there a piece of concept art from the show released/leaked that showed it already?

Yeah, I meant the Ghost looks like the Millennium Falcon. Sorry for the confusion there.

Not old fashioned, ancient Hebrew... Zebadiah (YAHWEH has bestowed) and Ezra (help)... so putting those names together in Star Wars would seem to mean that the force is with them, always.:)

I didn't know those were actually real-world names. I guess it hardly matters since they're still very uncommon and can pass as being made up sci-fi/fantasy names. I'd like to get back to using more common names like Luke, Ben, Owen though.

I wouldn't say Ezra is "very" uncommon - I know 3 people named Ezra...but, I suppose that comes from going to college in central Illinois - right in the bible-belt.

I think there has always been a mixture of real-world (also somewhat biblical) names and sci-fi names in star wars - Luke and Han; Owen and Beru; Ben and Obi-Wan; Leia(Leah) and Padme; etc...

Here's a good summary of what the Lego set says via: http://lightsaberrattling.com/star-...rs-meet-ezra-and-zeb-bridger-and-the-phantom/

Always? I'd say the PT and TCW definitely shifted toward more "foreign" sounding names.. Maybe Rebels will find a balance between the two eras.

yea, very true. I guess when I said "always" I meant "originally."

Eh, I would say that most names in Star Wars are real names, but rearranged in a certain way (Ahsoka comes from the Indian Emperor Ashoka, Padme means "lotus"). Some of them are just more "exotic" than others.
I'm familiar with Ezra because of Ezra Pound.

The Zeb/Ezra names are interesting but ther is a third character mentioned as well in the Lego descriptions for the Jedi Scout Fighter:

So we have a clone trooper, seemingly defected from the Empire, flying a Jedi ship loaded with quantities of holocrons and lightsabers. This raises some interesting questions.

I believe that set isn't a part of the Rebels line; Jek-14 is a character from the Yoda Chronicles TV Show, a Jedi clone created by Dooku for the lolz.

The being said, I do like Jeb and Erza.

There is a formula for creating Star Wars names.
IIRC it uses first syllables of both names, mother's maiden name and city of birth.

Tommy Fitzgerald, mother's maiden name Davis, from Toronto = Tofi Datoro

    Or something.

lol If that's really a formula they've used, I could do with a little less of it.

As for the names themselves, I don't care for them.

They cancelled TCW for a kids show. Are you kidding me.
