looks like we may have to have someone else host this.... does anyone wantt o give me an update on scoring and such. Does anyone know how many rounds this was going to go?

I have put up a little summary about how far this game is right now.

First this game should have gone three rounds (see first post on the first page).

These are the answers of round 2, but because question 4 of round 2 is in discussion there's also the question about the golden gonk for round 3, which questions are already asked and send in (complicated everything is, right? ):

The questions of round one (1) are asked, send in and answered by Rox correctly.
The questions of round two (2) are asked, send in and answered by Rox, but there are discussions about question four* and about the Golden Gonk.
The questions of round three (3) are asked, send in, but not answered by Rox yet.

*Problem about question four:
The question: "4.What star system is Mandalore in?"
Rox answer: "4. Empress Teta System" (I think he got it from wikipedia IIRC.)
But some (if not most) of us answered with "Mandalore System", which we got from more officially sources like for example the SW encyclopedia.

So there are four things to answer:

- How will question 4 of round 2 be handled? (Does everyone get a point for this question or no one?)
- Depending on the discussion about question 4: Which teams will get the gonk? (And how can we use it for the answers for round three, which are already send in?)
- What are the answers of round 3?
- Who is the winner of the game?

If you really want to take care about it, Strawbarry, it might be good if you read everything from page 8.

If I have forgotten anything, please, add it.

I say that we announce the winner of the FIRST comp.

Revamp it so that its bug free.... put it to the potential competitors & restart the whole thing after the Christmas frenzy. I'm willing to organise the Q&A side of it (if it was myself you were referring to.. ) & work with someone else in case anything happens on the day (if my net access goes offline).
If so, give me the green light & i'll come up with a slightly altered format & PM it to you guys for approval.

I think the rules was quite confusing and the bonus points should be removed. I have played several rounds of trivia on the classic trilogy board, maybe we should "copy" some of the Rules?. I think the 48 hours to answer is one to be considered. I still like the idea of several questions for each round, but maybe we should cut it down to just five.

But there's still the question about "question four" and who gets the gonk.

I suggest to give out the gonk first before giving out the answer for round three. This way you could allow to send in the gonk before you know which answer is wrong.
Otherwise it isn't possible in any way to handle the gonk thing more or less fair.

I agree we should have closure to this one before we move on......

I will discuss the Pm issue with the GSA's and see what the dealio is on that one......we definitely need to declare a winner on this before we move on.

I also have been going over a few things in my head abnout how to re-approch the new one.....I think it could be alot of fun

^that question has a more elusive answer than the question of the meaning of life...

those other problems are easily solved. strawbary or a GSA (whoever wants to) makes a well-educated decision about the infamous "question four" (and it should be rather obvious which one...) and could just as well automatically apply the gonk to whichever round-3-question that team got wrong (they're all worth the same, after all and it doesn't matter which one if there's two or more wrong answers).

I cannot help feeling this has turned into a farce.
It was fun to start with but now just seems like one problem after another.

If we start another game I think the rules should be reviewed also.
The whole 'First one to PM back' is an issue for those who get the questions posted in the middle of the night, they have an unfair disadvantage.
Maybe there is another way to issue bonus points?

I hope this gets sorted soon because I am, unfortunately, losing interest rapidly.
