Vancouver [UPDATE] "Memoirs of a Geisha" Activity: Successful Meet Enjoyed By All!

I took a peek on the ol' fanforce and spotted a movie suggestion and it seemed some people were interested! I'm up for seeing a movie (then again, I'm always up for seeing a movie!)

The story so far...

* People would like the date to be a weekend

* Movies suggested:
Narnia
King Kong
Memoirs of a Geisha

My 2 cents:
I would love, love, love to see Memoirs of a Geisha. But, whatever gets the people's vote.

How about this Saturday at Metropolis?

 

I can't make it this Saturday - Friday night is a possibility though. I also vote for Geisha.

 

Ok, I can probably make any day this weekend (Fri/Sat/Sun). I suggested Saturday because in the other thread Antonio said his days off are going to be Sat/Sun.

Geisha is good for me too.

 

I also vote for Geisha.. I heard it was good.

I have Saturday off... if we do it friday, is there a movie time around 8ish?? I have work until 6 - 6:30 that day. And I dont have a ride, so I will be taking the bus from work to a sky train station... so travel will take a bit if we do it friday.. so cross your fingers for an 8ish show.. lol...

 

Memoirs of a Geisha plays every day at Metrotown at 12:40, 3:50, 7:00, 10:15.

 

Another option would be to change the venue to the Paramount downtown (at Burrard & Smithe), if that's convenient for everyone. They've got a 7:30pm show on Friday, and it should be closer for Antonio than Metropolis.

What do y'all think?

 

If the movie is going to be in paramount, then i am definitely game. It will be easier for me to get there after work!!! :d

There's a 7:30 showing at the Paramount according to the Famous Players website. You may have been looking at last week's schedule which only had one screening per day of Geisha.

It was nice to get together with some friendly faces, and the movie was good. Although, it's too bad we weren't all able to sit and chat a bit more before or after the film, but I guess that's life with busy schedules and all.

 

That was fun! Next time let's meet up earlier for coffee/food whatever so we can chat more!

I could probably do something this Saturday, but I'm not sure I'd want to do another movie right yet. I wonder if there are any Chinese New Year celebrations going on downtown this coming weekend. If you're interested I'll see if I can dig up some info on that.

 

I am out of town this weekend and next. This weekend because I am going to Seattle to see the one and only, great MAYNARD FERGUSON. Next weekend the Cap band is going to Victoria on a "band trip". If some event happens while I'm gone, have a ton of fun!

Now how about we do something a little closer to home? And doesn't involve money? (Or at least a lot of money?)

 

I dont think a movie and some chips was a lot of money.. I dont think I even reached more than $15 that night. And I would say Paramount is bloody close to Home... well in my case anyway
