This week we have a 4 way tie between Rhett, Jim, Carmen and Seldon.

    Here's the JCC thread: http://boards.theforce.net/message.asp?topic=17502214&replies=0

"The time has come," the Walrus said,
    "To talk of many things:
    Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax--
    Of cabbages--and kings--
And why the sea is boiling hot--
    And whether pigs have wings."

It appears that my eviction prediction became true.

I am posting this in lieu of Tracy as the decision was made just prior to her having to go offline. Tracy will be offline this evening, but should you have questions, you may either post them here or PM her as well.

We've got a change of scenery in the BB house today.

Rhett's been invited back to the house and Darth_Seldon has been removed from the house.

The reason he has been kicked out is because he violated a board rule, similar to like SWR. Seldon sent out more than 20 unsolicited PMs to JCers not really involved in the game. He PMed these users asking them to vote for a specific canidate.

This is spamming users with PMs. Precedent was established with the JC Election game, and this is a bannable offense. And as with comet and SWR, committing a bannable offense not only gets you banned, but also evicted from the game.

A user brought this to my attention, and when I posted about it in the Mod Squad, two other mods immediately chimed in that they had recieved the same exact PM, and were unsure as to why it was sent. The mods and admins are in agreement on this course of action.

PMs of this nature will not be tolerated. It is cheating. If you want to encourage people to vote, or explain to them why you feel they should vote for a certain housemate, you may do so, but sending mass PMs asking users to vote for a candidate without reasons and sending them to people who do not regularly vote is not okay. We had an admin check to make sure none of the other housemates did this as well.

The vote totals between Rhett and the next highest voted housemate was not a large spread, and as such makes inviting Rhett back into the house a reasonable conclusion.

I hope none of this has been going on in the past, and that it will not happen again.

We had an admin check to make sure none of the other housemates did this as well.

Does that mean you looked up each of our PWs and and then logged in under our accounts without permission even though you had no specific reason to believe that we'd done something wrong? Wouldn't it have been easier to ask if anyone had received PMs, rather than log into our accounts?

I just think that logging in under someone else's name should be a last-ditch effort rather than the first thing they do.

This is true, it probably should of been. But I guess its my after work attitude talking here, but if thats what they had to do its what they had to do. Either way I'm fine with it.

I don't like the idea I must confess, but my PMs should just confirm my feelings toward the admins.

Seldon's claiming that he was told by a mod that it was okay to PM people.

If that's the case, all you colored peeps need to get on the same page. That's a pretty serious problem. How are regulars supposed to know the rules if the mods don't?

Hmmm, that is a serious concern, carmen. We're looking into that in the MS right at this moment but we really can't do much until dashy chimes in with his version.

The reasoning behind the PM check (which, to my understanding was just a breif scan of monday's sent PMs (maybe even just by title) to make sure we were not punishing one person for something that was a group effort.

I understand your concern, but the fact of the matter is that admins do have that right. it should not be abused, of course, but I do not feel it was abuse in this case. Asking JCers or the BB housemates individually would haev been time consuming, taking at least 24 hours. A PM check took less than 10 minutes.

Well, I admit thaht I think the whole thing is rather silly, and I was quite willing to acept my defeat. However, the thought of pointing at Seldon and laughing simply makes me feel warm and tingly all over.

The amoeba is laughing. Trust me.

Also, the girl is Seldon. The fist is the rules.

BTW, any mod that doesn't know that that is and has been a pretty well-known rule for a while might as well resign now. I knew that it was against the rules to campaign by spamming with PMs as I'm sure most everyone else does.
