Anyone else having major problems with Si-Net and the course catalogue? It's really starting to get annoying.

Anyway, I thought we could use this thread for upcoming uni stuff, like the old thread. That last one seemed to get hijacked with election stuff. *not looking at anyone in particular*

Sinet is generally a real pain in the ass. I think it is so dumb, how you cant change your password unless it has capitals and lower case letters AND numbers, it is so stupid!

 

Nope. I've been fine so far.

Then again, I registered a week ago.

Some courses will come up as not being available yet. Check in that sections web page to see if it is available that semester. For example, if a HIST subject comes up as being unavailable then look in the History department web page.

Yeah, I've tried looking at the department sites. Of course the business, economics, and law department only had the course names and no descriptions.

I found that after I signed in it worked a lot better (rather than the catalogue you don't have to log in for). It's also really annoying that if you want to look in a certain subject area you have to start from scratch each time.

Anyway, what courses is everyone doing? Or are you all like me and haven't decided yet?

Sex and Sexuality (History)

The Bible: Fact or fiction (religion)

Religions in the Graeco-Roman world (religion)

and Myth, Magic and religion (Anch History).

I havent set it in stone yet, but my definites are:

POLS1301 - Modern Political Ideologies

Maybes:
ECON-Something-Something-Something-Something - Australian Economic Instituions
ECON-Something-Something-Something-Something - Economic social issues or somehting
Another Economics or Political Science subject.

I'm in damage control at the moment, I need to raise my GPA or face exclusion at the moment!!!! So, its lots of first year subjects for me!

I like Kit's course the best so far. Sounds a little light on the credit points though. But that's an arts degree for ya. I guess it's fair enough, what with all the assignments and essays you have to write.

They should be cool. Lots of assignments, but probably not overly stressful - makes a break from doing education all the time!

Hmm...well it doesnt technically exist yet...but I'm sure the committee will let us have a few non-UQ students (but not too many, otherwise we are void of receiving funding)
