FF:NZ URGENT! Brainstorm required

Good points Humble Extra!

No-one's really made comment on the "guards / Guardians" things.

The reason I like "Guardians of the Triple Star" (I like justifying my ideas, as you will have noticed!) is that it echos the title format of Episodes 2 and 5...

 

I hate videoezy, their much vaunted games, video and dvd sale was in fact pretty much gameless! and i got up at 8am on a saturday to find that out!

 

So, I realised my banner concept certainly had the triple stars (Tem, Daniel, Jay), but no actual "Guardians" as such...

So maybe the Guardian would look something like this?

Yeah. I prefer Paintshop Pro to Photoshop.

I got the full colour photo of the guards, cut the main one out, turned him to black and white, mucked around with brightness & contrast until it looked more black than grey, pasted in a fern logo and 3 stars from our flag - tweaked them a little so they fitted in the cloaks folds - and pasted that picture back into the original colour one.

If we decide to go with a "guardians of the triple star" theme, I'll try and incorporate these guys into a revised banner idea.

very nice! yeah i like the guardians of the triple star. The Alpha centauri is cool as well, but its a little too personal!

and nice pic! I gotta find the time to do some web graphics. Just finished a movie poster design brief at college(guess which movie i chose?).

LOL. Chansplace, the Alpha centauri thing was only brought up by me due to it being a triple star system in the southern cross.

It really has not a lot to do with the slogan "Guardians of the Triple Star" - which is more to do with the line in our National Anthem, and having 3 NZ actors in major roles in Ep2.

It's just funny that Centuri's also your name!

 

I know, but it would still be weird.

If you must know,(and havent been to my website) I was named after alpha Centauri.

 

Hopefully i'll have some this week to come up with banner ideas, I've a mental week so far. The pics lookin' good though!!

 

Has anyone managed to find any of our kiwi actors in ep2 uniform that are actually usable, or half decent. If you have, can post some links to the pics.

Easy enough to get good publicity head-shots of Jay & Tem, and digitally paste them onto other (ep2) bodies.

Also that way you get "new" images that differ from the ones that have been floating round the web forever and a day.

There are some good ones of Tem for Barb Wire etc, and good ones for Jay on streetlegal.co.nz

 

OK my first banner mock up is here, it's fairly simple and i've only used our main actors. Also the "Guardians of the Triple Star" has grown on me so I used that too.

My only comment is that you have 4 stars from the flag, and 4 "stars" from the movie.

So "Guardians of the Triple Star" doesn't really follow through to the banner components.

Rena Owen is fully CG in the movie, which is why I didn't count her as a "star".

Maybe in place of the 4 stars from the flag you could do something along the lines of the emblem on my Black Royal Guard above?

I loved that ad. It was cute in a really annoying way.

 

Cool, I didn't think the whole 4 star 3 star thing matched up well, but I put it there to help with ideas and stuff.
I didn't know Rena was fully CGI

Think the 3 stars with the silver fern underneath looks cool

Think the banners are looking good both from SWNZ and JP-30

Maybe we should run a bit of poll over the name
just to get everyones in NZ opinion

Although a really, really love number two, no one else is going to know what we mean by 'New World'.

I guess I'm going with Guardians of the Triple Star. I quite like Land of the Long white cloud city too, but NZ is basically farm land not city.
