USA Soccer Team

I don't think anyone would say that the US Soccer/Futbol Team is great. However I would say that they have and continue to work on getting better. Especially since soccer is not even a big sport in America. What do you think? And any thoughts on the Olympics or more importantly FIFA World Cup.

 

Well we dispatched Poland 3-0 recently, good signs. We should win the CONCAFAC division easily because Mexico is getting worse by the day. Then its World Cup time

lol i like that score...i think the US has a match against Argentina in the summer. That should prove what we can do against the top teams.

 

The USA has some excellent goalkeepers.

June 8th at Giants Stadium. I'm looking forward to going, I've been able to get to one USA national team game every summer, this one is the best yet.

airs on espn2 tonight... 8 eastern. not sure about west coast times... if there will be a delay or if it starts at 5pm. they're playing in illinois.

 

We looked poor against Cuba hopefully we can pull it together against a better T&T team

 

true. that was a pretty sloppy performance...albeit on a crappy field in the pouring rain. But T&T is missing one of their stars Dwight Yorke, so hopefully it won't be as tough as it should be.

yep. US 1-0 over T&T. Just scored here in the 9th minute...michael bradley off a free kick from l. donavon.

 

Donovan is one of the few American outfield players I rate; nice to see an assist from him. I'd expect him to score later on in the game, too.

 

well it's halftime. clint dempsey got a goal. 2-0 US at the half.

 

3-0 Final score. The US played well enough, T&T never threatened, and for the last 20 minutes it was just a passing drill for the US. They always do that, just dick around with the ball, never truly putting down an opponent. Nonetheless... we're 3 wins in to round 2 of world cup qualification.

 

Watched it and they played well. Did anyone notice the USA chant song thingy?

 

yeah noticed that... 'bout time we had something. they kept it up for the last 30 minutes of the game.
