Yeah seriously... that game was terrible. At least we have a game to bounce back this wednesday against T&T. I'm surprised we pulled off the tie. Almost won though with Ching's bicycle. I'm just satisfied the antics by el sal's players didn't win the game for them. I hate that about soccer more than anything... but to be fair... it usually only occurs in central american soccer...

Altidore with a hat trick. The 19 year old with a nice break out game. Still a little raw but showed he can be around the ball.

Yeah... looks like he'll be a starter come 2010. And it's nice to see the mexicans get beat as well...

Some radio guy was blasting the US team for losing to Costa Rica. It was a knee-jerk reaction for sure.

We are still winning the group so no real worries unless we lose to Honduras as well.

Mexico may not even qualify. How much of a riot would that be? CONCAFAC is pretty easy to qualify from, we're lucky because the way we are playing, there is no way we would qualify from a UEFA group.

    No we wouldn't.

I still don't even see how we are in the top 50 in FIFA rankings much less in the top 15.

    Confederation Cup starts Sunday.

USA unfortunately has a hard group with Italy and Brazil... and Egypt.

    Italy 3-1 USA

We just do not look threatening enough when attacking. Eqypt looked far superior to us attacking wise bs Brazil. I would play Freddy Adu, he brings a spark and is a playmaker.

Why were we a man down the whole time?

I actually thought we looked like we had more offense in this game.

Altidore looked good except he should have hammered that pass home from donovan.

I only saw the red card and the penalty. The card was a joke, definitely yellow but no more. The penalty was blatant and correctly given.

The red card was pretty soft, considering it's a very severe penalty. However, you have to make due with what you have. I don't know if the USA can hang around. Not that they don't want it, they just seemed out classed.

I saw the replay of the penalty. Crap call and really changed the whole game.

I don't see Italy winning it all. They did nothing that impressive, actually they looked slow.

    [face_hypnotized] Wow

Pretty impressive 3-0 win against Egypt, and with Brazil's 3-0 win vs Italy, we move into the semifinals on goal differential. Brazil plays South Africa and the US plays Spain next[face_flag]

I didn't get to watch any soccer because I was on the road, but the overall chance of everything that happened yesterday was incredible. Just amazing!

I have a friend who had a major headache all afternoon and evening yesterday because he was so worked up about everything, especially that missed handball that could have been a major boon to the US. Turns out they didn't need it, anyway. :p

I don't even think that the U.S.A. should have gotten this far. More luck (Excluding the way the mashed on Egypt) than anything. Good Luck United States, although it's going to take more than that.

Great D today by Howard and everyone else in the back and midfield. Snapping the 35 game unbeaten streak of Spain priceless.[face_flag]

I think it's a marketing ploy to try and get Americans to like football :p
