Just wanted to pop in and say congrats to the US Men's National Soccer Team for it's biggest win in our nation's history. USA 3 - 2 Portugal Portugal is ranked 5th in the world and is supposed to make it to the later rounds of the World Cup. The US played a great match and it's a very exciting day for soccer fans around the country! GO USA!!!!
MASSIVE BUMP!! Because... we won against Mexico, 2-0!!!! WOO HOOOOO!!! This means we play Germany next in the "Elite Eight", then the winner of Spain and what will probably be Italy for the "Final Four". moogle has a point. I propose altering the name football to futbol to clarify. Do not be too proud of this athletic prowess you've invested emotion upon. The American's ability to conquer a European sport is insignificant next to the power of a miracle.
you can't really use a "we were here first" line as the rest of the world was calling it football long before american football was founded. Perhaps a "you should catch up" would be better. Hats off to the Team USA performance in this competition - better than ever before. Lets hope they can push it to the next stage. M
