Now, call me immature, but it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside whenever a star wars character uses the word "hell" or "damn"

Originally I suppose the word "hell" was going to be a common part of the show's vocabulary because it was used twice in Rookies before parents bitched... I mean complained about it, so I'm just wondering. Is the word censored on the DVD release of season 1?

I have no idea, but I like a smattering of profanity in my Star Wars as well.

Han Solo has the best lines in the series and I think he's the only one who swears.

No need for Chris Rock levels of swearing but I like a "hell," "damn" or "ass" once in awhile.

Makes the series more down to earth. I think the only use of the word "damn" in the prequels came from Dexter

I watched season one last week, and I don't remember it being censored. I don't think anything's censored on the DVD's.

It's definitely not censored on the Blu-Rays.

    "What the hell was that?!?"

"That was an eel." *insert troll face*

I'd like to hear the words damn or hell. Not counting on it with Disney. Don't mean to be prudish (come on, I have my potty mouth myself) but I don't think they are all that needed. "What the heck!" , "We are totally screwed!" gets job done IMO.

I would pay to see a remake where Mace Windu talks like Jules Winfield from Pupl Fiction.

I enjoyed the one or two instances of "What the hell?" and the like in the early episodes, and am pretty disappointed the show caved to pressure from whiny parties and censored the lines for future broadcasts.

Personally, I believe it adds a sense of general realism to the characters to have some manner of profanity, whether it's the extremely mild "hell" or "damn," or the myriad of established in-universe alternatives. Stang, osik, fierfek, shab...any or all of these could be effectively used to pepper the language of the clone troopers, for instance, scoring double points for swooping under the radar of morality policing morons and tipping a nod to long-time Star Wars fans familiar with the expressions.

I hope the show continues not to use curse words.

    I wish it would.

I like the use of the in-universe language so far (scrag, for example)

    Needs more, I think.

I had to laugh when I rewatched "Rookies" a few weeks back and Rex's "hell" was followed moments later by Cody rather emphatically using "heck".

Does the word hell even mean anything in Star Wars land? I'd prefer in-universe slang profanities.

Why yes, yes it does. Because Han said it, it was established that Corellians believe in a hell of sorts.

    http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Chaos

Why a clone would adapt such a word? I don't know, but hey... it's canon!

There are a number of different Hell-like traditions established in-universe. The Corellians believe in Nine Hells, while the Jedi and Sith believe in the concept of Chaos, a hellish realm of the Force where the souls of the dead Sith go. The Mandalorians believe in a soulless nothing comparable to hell for those who don't make it to the Manda, the Naboo have their own hell guarded by seven great doors...the list goes on.

No one is asking profanity to become a norm of the show, although a bit more of realism in this case would be welcome.

**** yeah, let's get more of that **** on the show. :p

I assume you mean "what the hell was that?!", regarding the eel. That wasn't actually said by Rex, but I don't recall which one it was. That happened before Rex and Cody got there. Then the eel attacked again later and Rex killed it.

    It was Hevy.

And "hell" is used again later in the episode, after the clones defeat the commando droids.
