Its also because Nitro is a different sort of gas that can be packed at higher levels into tires for a higher pressure and a more stable and reliable tire.

Cars and trucks dont need nitrogen because they are ground based. Its also extremely potent when mixed with fire. Basically if you have a fire already on board an airship of some sort...you're screwed already. If you had 4 bombs on every car..well boom.
