JCC Using the self checkout

Today I was using the self checkout at the grocery store to buy a loaf of bread. I used my Debit Card to pay because I was out of cash, and decided to get $20 cash back for the same reason. When I went to get my change out of the change dispenser there was $35.

I looked around to see if anyone was coming back with panic in their eyes, saw no one, and took all of it.

I then used some of this money to buy some garlic knots from a pizza place across the street, they were delicious.

 

Extra money can and should be spent on two things and two things only: hookers and blow. Garlic knots are unacceptable.

 

Wait until you find that $35 was withdrawn from your account.

 

More than acceptable.

 

It is acceptable to use the self checkout.

I shudder to think of the kind of hookers and blow you could get for $15.

 

If the Government never asked was it morally right to rob you a percentage of your paycheck, why should you feel guilty about that?

 

Given that we have an elected government, and that every single tax in existence has been crafted and voted through to approval by an elected legislative branch before being signed into law by an elected executive, I am pretty sure exactly that question has been asked. And answered in the affirmative.

We don't get to decide where the money goes. Your tax dollars go to pay for the $150,000 bomb to blow up the $10 tents.

We'll hold an election day to figure out if the federal courthouse in Gadsden Alabama should be able to spend $9.99 on a new pack of Charmin Ultra Soft Toilet Paper, $11.49 on Charmin Ultra Strong Toilet Paper, or if people who go to the restroom in the building will just have to make due with their hands?

Budgets have always been relegated to the elected officials to decide. And, again, you have the power to choose who those officials are. If you don't like what they are spending money on, vote for someone who will spend it on different things. Stop having a Randian pity party.

As someone who works in Self-Serve a lot I feel somewhat obligated to frown at your actions.
If the person who left that money behind did eventually come back to the store to collect their money, what is the attendant supposed to tell them? "Too bad!"

 

I sort of thought there was a write-in space on the ballot that allowed you to vote for anyone or anything you wanted. Even inanimate or fictional objects.

 

Yes, but only if there is an actual person who has declared that they wanted to run for the election but didn't get enough signatures to be printed on the ballot, or missed a deadline or something like that.
