His father is a cantina owner, and Awin has been working as a bouncer there for about a year when he isn't attending school. He has a few rough edges, but likes to help people. He has a strong dislike for elitists and snobs. He's very strong, and exceptionally adgile for so large a person. He has a birth defect, one arm ends just below the elbow, but it doesn't get in his way of doing anything he sets his mind to.

Notables: (Likes, dislikes, pervasive rumors, etc.) A Zabrak male, he tends to be quiet and standoffish. He was away with his master on a mission during the first exchange student fiasco, but heard plenty of rumors.

Notables: a healer in training and a very high pitched voice.

Those two are friends with Aaqu Maerhin and Kaagi Adin and will interact with them.

You certainly can, although at this stage I think just about everyone is staying in the temple (although there is one padawan who has gone outside).

Did you realise that currently we have four master healers and two apprentice healers? I was thinking about it last night and was rather amused really - maybe we're all expecting the students to end up in the healing wards I think it's great - that part of the temple never gets a fair go (apart from An-Paj).

Notables: (Likes, dislikes, pervasive rumors, etc.) Even though it is short notice, Dien-ku is excited about going to a "normal" school. He always wondered what the lives of non-jedi were like, and is eager to learn. He tends to be a cheerful, easygoing lad. He's concerned about how his master is taking the separation. Even though his master is stoic, he can sense the uneasiness in Ca'es.

That is a distinct possibility with the mixed group we have. [face_laugh]

I have a suggestion to perhaps start a separate thread with the padawans that are going to "normal" schools.

 

I think that sounds like a good idea, it would definitely be less confusing that way.

 

But what would it be called? "Ultra-Stressed Jedi Students In Mugglemania"?

 

I agree with Alexis and Lily. And I have no good ideas for a catchy name.

I agree about the new thread but I have no idea what you could call it either.

Just spent the last two hours reading through the old threads and periodically reading bits out to my boyfriend so that he can better proof my stuff (even though I've generally already posted it by the time he gets to read it). It's sort of bittersweet going through and reading it all, part of me loves it and part of my thinks about the naivity with which I was writing and the things I was writing about (I was about 17). Part of me also wonders where all the other great people we were writing with have gone

But now we have new people and new situations and new parties to plan. I think Kirsh'of should organise a small celebration to welcome the students to the wider Jedi community. Maybe a picnic?

Hmmmmmmm, instead of having a separate thread for the exchange padawans, perhaps they could just be in the USJS thread as they send reports back to their masters? The students in the Temple would have as part of their 'homework' sending reports back to the padawans?

 

I like those, but perhaps "USJS: Padawan Edition" would be good.

That would be good too, but 'reports' wouldn't quite be the same as telling the story of the padawans.


So, how long is this exchange program supposed to last? Don't student exchange programs in RL run one semester? That would be about three to four months.

 

That's how a normal exchange program would work, but based on the last 4 threads the answer here is... as long as we want. It might be interesting to actually keep track of time and call an end to the program, then see how many come back the next semester or whatever.

 

That would be interesting. The only problem I see is the fact that so far only one day has passed. If time passes like this the entire story it will last for forever and a day. Not that it's a bad thing, though.

 

I was thinking about that earlier today. "Man, this day is dragging on forever!" This may be the point where we want to structure the thread a little more. Or not. As people prefer.

I do like the idea of the students all going home and seeing if some come back next semester.

 

I really like that idea of them ending the program and returning as well. It would definitely give some closure for what has already occurred and give us a fresh start to do it all over again.
