Cool - I was hoping they'd remember us! I guess if it comes before the next meeting I can pick it up from you then.

The 15-stamp sheet is available for pre-order:

FYI - When I was going to Border's on a break last night, R2 was still standing as a mail-box on Post & Powell.

Neither rain, nor sleet, nor incorrect postage - R2-D2 will deliver your message to General Kenobi!

Waaaaay back in March, Alison and I visited our local R2 mailbox near San Jose. For fun I thought I'd give my test letter to "General Kenobi, Desert Cave, Tatooine, R2D2" a shot. I wondered if I put the return address as Bantha tracks if it would make it to them?

6 months later, I got this message from Mary Franklin:

I received the letter to General Kenobi. Thanks! It was pretty funny ? you used a 39-cent stamp, so not only did they ?return? it to me, they returned it to me for more postage!

    Mary Franklin

As a side note, the letter had the correct postage at the time. The postage rate increase happened in May, well after I mailed the letter!

I've been combing through photos to add to the web site. I never realized I hadn't added Matt and Harry's photos from the R2 mailbox unveiling to our photo album!

And I added Matt's photo from 4th and Townsend

How funny! I'm not surprised that the letter was delayed, though. My guess is that the post office sat on it past the time that the rate increased, and then someone didn't take into account the date it was originally mailed. I'm glad it made it, though!
