Vader on Hoth

Does anyone else reckon Vader looks different on Hoth then he does anywhere else? I am sure there is something different about him in those scenes but I cannot put my finger on what it is.

Anyone else noticed anything or am I going mad?

 

Do you have a specific shot, or a pic to show us what you mean?

 

Perhaps it's just the way he stands out in stark contrast to the white corridors. Maybe you notice something about his outfit there you don't normally see...?

It is not a specific shot or scene, it is all of them. As I said before I cannot put my finger on it. It maybe just to do with the contrast of the black on white, but to me he just looks different then he does in the rest of the film.

 

I think it's the way the black suit contrasts to the white background and the determination in Vader's strides through the base.

 

Two words for why Vader looks different:

Thermal Underwear.


He must look a bit bulkier, due to the fact he wanted some toasty undies for his Hoth invasion.

 

And that old-fashioned radiator under his cape.

 

His nipples would be erect but there would also be significant "shrinkage" to quote Seinfeld.

 

Not if it is "more machine than man".

 

Did you notice anything different about Vader in ANH when he's walking around inside Leia's ship, in the white corridors?

If so, then it's color contrast.

Yeah, his lenses were red and his helmet was smaller and his cape was different and he didn't have shoulder pads and the control box was lower on his chest...

He seems the same to me at the beginning of ANH as he does in the rest of the film.

In ESB I think he lookds different in the Hoth scenes then he does in the others. aybe it is not the black on white contrast then.

 

Nobody has said that his "chestplate" is upsidedown, or backwards in ANH. I don't remember which it is.

 

I think it in all likelyhood is the contrast between the white and the black
