    somewhere along the line i think i read something about a guy called "Imperial Inquisitor Tremayne". Is that a pre-Vader/post- Anakin alias???

    No, Tremayne was a separate character. You can read about him starting on pp. 22 of the Fragments From the Rim RPG sourcebook.
