Vader's force pull and Luke's lightsaber

Somewhere in Empire Strikes Back we see Vader rip Han's blaster out of his HANd via the force.

Why doesn't he just do the same thing with Luke's lightsaber before their duel even starts, slice it in half and say "Get in the pit skywalker, or your friends will die"???

I know that if he had of done that we wouldn't have got the cool lightsaber battle that follows, but come on!

 

maybe cause it was in Lukes hand who has the force and its hard to take it away from a force user

or maybe it was a act of honor to fight

 

also i think he wasnt trying hard during that fight until after luke hit him in the shoulder. after luke fell in the chamber and he thinks he has him he says "perhaps you are not as strong as the emperor thoguht" like he was personally testing his ability. also he prob wanted to see if the apple fell far from the tree. i think he saw potential after the fight and thats when he thought of the "join me, and together we can rule the galaxy..."

Luke is strong with the Force, Solo is not.
