The dreaded day is almost over, peeps. ;)

We don't make a big deal over it, but Tim done good and came home with champagne-colored roses and Hersheys chocolate bars...which is a good thing - I can't stand that mystery-candy stuff in the heart shaped boxes. [face_laugh]

    Traci, Wait - they're not everything??? [face_laugh]

I got some wine that I'm supposed to "save" and a bracelet, and some "Passion" perfume.... [face_laugh] and a card with the Wizard of Oz characters on it that says...and I quote: "Little do most people know, the heart wasn't the Tinman's first organ of choice. - Happy Valentine's Day from the Bottom of my Heart." [face_laugh] Okay, guess you had to read it. :p

    Men...[face_love] :*

Lin, would you really want Terri Clark?? She openly admits that "Girls Lie Too". And she might call you 'Johnny' when your in bed. You might wanna think about Shania Twain, y'all can have a "Party for Two".

Traci, I agree with you about thos 'mystery candies' there is only one I like and I can never find it.

Joe, I can compare anything to Tolkien and Lucas. And I mean ANYTHING. My best friend has actually compared those to each other.
And sorry if it sounds like I was getting defensive, I really wasn't. I was just stating a fact. Of course, after watching "7th Heaven" last night, it was a poor excuse for a musical episode, I'm starting to think that maybe I was right in the first place. They stated every few minutes that it was a made-up holiday.

Depends on what you mean by made up.

The big deal that it is today is completely contrived by card companies and the like. My Grandma was born on Feb 14 in the twenties and she said when she was little nobody celebrated it. It existed. Her middle name is Valine because of her birthday, but it wasn't a big deal.

It is real in that it is based on legend and tradition of St. Valentine, and in that said Valentine did supposedly exist--that is of course subject to proofs that I don't want to spend the time researching, and I would dare say that the man was a very different person than we all imagine and have been taught he was...

sorry for the terribly constructed sentence/paragraph. ;)

Any holiday, real or manufactured, that involves or implies shagging is OK in my book. ;)

That's certainly romantic! Why don't we give chocolate severed heads then? Nothing says love like a severed head.

    Awesome V-Day (SAD) quotes:

I've learned that you cannot make someone love you. But you can stalk them & hope they panic & give in.
    --Brandon Tikalsky

A man in love is incomplete until he has married. Then he's finished.
    --Zsa Zsa Gabor

Love thine enemies...it really pisses them off. ?Anonymous

Mom, romance is dead. It was acquired in a hostile takeover by Hallmark and Disney, homogenized, and sold off piece by piece.
