There is a convention happening in Fargo, ND October 21-23. It should be a lot of fun. The web site is still being updated, but the pre-registration page is up and running. I know there will be a droid hunt this year and a Star Wars party room.

Also, if people are interested in flying in but don?t want to pay the price of a plane ticket from Minneapolis to Fargo, there will be a party bus that will pick people up and bring them to the event (more details will be on the web site soon).

The ValleyCon web site is http://www.valleycon.com/

We are hoping to have a Jedi training event for the kids. If any Jedi plan on going to this event and would like to volunteer to train our future Jedi, let us know. We will also have a Droid hunt, so please contact us if you are part of the 501st and would like to participate

You can visit http://www.geocities.com/vcstarwarspartyroom/ for more information about our party room. The contact information is on our web site if you would like to help out.

    Hope to see everyone there!

    Thanks,
    Stacy

Well I hope to see you both there. I highly recommend this event. It's spread out enough so you actually get to meet the stars and talk with them instead of being rushed through an assembly line. Plus, it?s great just to hang out with other sci-fi/fantasy fans.

We also have party rooms that are all setup by the fans. Every room has a theme and some event, food, drink, etc. It's a great place to just hang out once the main events are done for the day.

Also, Kevin Sorbo doesn?t do a lot of cons so it?s a great opportunity to get his autograph.

    Thanks,
    Darkooze

Also, Kevin Sorbo will be at this event and doesn?t do a lot of cons so it?s a great opportunity to get his autograph.

Glad to hear you can make it Reb. I plan on dressing up as a tie-pilot for most of the event. If you see me around, be sure to say 'hi'!

I just wanted to send a reminder that there are only 6 weeks left until ValleyCon. If you plan on going, make sure you register on time. Also, if you need a hotel room, I would recommend staying at the Doublewood. The Doublewood will be hosting the Fan party rooms, RPG games, and video games throughout the day. Just make sure you tell them you are booking your room for ValleyCon to receive a discount on the room. We have also added two authors to our guest list: Diane Duane and Peter Morwood!

For those of you interested in Volunteering for the Jedi Training or the Droid hunt, please contact Mobey at JediSlayer7979@aol.com or you can visit http://www.geocities.com/vcstarwarspartyroom/ for more information.

    Thanks,
    Darkooze

I'm not sure if I'll be able to make either, but at the least I'd like to hit the party if I can make it back to NoDak then. Do you have to be a ValleyCon goer to hit the party?

Also, how is everyone able to afford Stormtrooper armor? I've been looking for one for a while and cheapest I could find is $600 and that's not including lots of stuff.

Yes, you need to register to hit the party rooms. They offer session passes for certain times during the day, but those tickets only allow you to view certain events, but not participate.

Our Star Wars group is hoping to get a few people together and make a trip to the Children?s Hospital on Friday during the Con. If you are going to ValleyCon (www.valleycon.com) this year and have a Star Wars costume and are interested in participating, please contact Mobey at JediSlayer7979@aol.com or go to http://www.geocities.com/vcstarwarspartyroom/.

I might have some friends hook up my band with a gig in Fargo conveniently for that time period. I probably won't attend ValleyCon for I will be broke, but I'll conveniently stay at the Best Western and hang out and get into what I can. Very cool idea about the Children's Hospital too.

I just wanted to send a reminder that ValleyCon is fast approaching. If you plan on going to this event and haven?t pre-reg do so now! The last day to pre-reg is Oct 10. After that it?s $50 at the door for an all access pass.

Also, daypasses will be added to this event ? one for Friday and one for Saturday. The daypass is an all-access pass for that day (until 2am).

If you are able to make this event, make sure you say ?hi? (I?ll be dressed as a tie fighter pilot).

    Thanks,
    Darkooze
