Varitek Splitting the Uprights: The Ionic Sports Moments Thread

I'm guessing that most of you have already heard about this by now, since it was all over ESPN yesterday.

If somehow you managed to miss all that, the mayor of Boston made comments about what he termed "ionic" moments in sports, among which was "Varitek splitting the uprights"

What are your favorite gaffes like this, whether it be from politicians or announcers just misspeaking?

Oh, and I'd like to see the Patriots bring in Varitek and have him actually try to kick a FG from wherever it was Vinatieri kicked from in the 2002 Super Bowl (that is, during a timeout or halftime or something like that)
