Well I was a little dissapointed with SA in the test series (not the most exciting cricket i've ever seen) but the Tri-Series is something I look forward to every year and since the Kiwi's are playing it warrants a little exposure.

So what are your thoughts leading up to the comp with NZ V Aus on Friday?

I'm picking a Aus v NZ final, I don't think SA have it all together at the moment and both NZ and Aus are playing some great cricket respectively.

If NZ had better medium pacers they might have made the final, but I think the experience from SA will get them there in the end.

NZ takes on Australia A today. It'll be interesting cause Gillespie is making his latest comeback, and we'll get to see how those NZ bowlers go.

Aust v Aust A would be more interesting than Aust v either NZ or SA

I think our bowling is pretty strong at the moment. With the likes of Cairns, Bond, Nash, Styris and Franklin all are the same pace as McGrath and Pollock with the exception of Bond who isn't too far behind Lee and Ntini (the SA guy)

Looks like we'll be chasing 260+ We always do crappy at build up games so I wouldn't look too much into the final result either way.

Pffft. A minor slip up. Australian cricket is quite strong through all levels at the moment.
NZ hasn't had the best of build ups to the series. After playing the phenominally strong and mighty world cricket power that is the invincible Bangladeshi side - it's hardly gonna do wonders to your standards. [face_plain]

    Meh, it's early days. We'll see. ;) :D

    R.

PS- I would, at the least, hope NZ puts up a better fight than the meeker than meek South Africans who were psyched out by the Aussies. :)

    37 degrees! lovely playing conditions...

So our top order fails again, and Macca and Cairns are left to salvage the wreck. ah well, we shall come back...somehow.

Pretty average performance really, haven't seen the highlights but scorecard tells me enough.

    More whinging from SM, YAY!

3 wickets to MacGuill was alright, but he did give away 71 runs. It looks like Warne is keeping him out still. Gillespie bowled well, less than 3 an over, but he didn't get to bowl his 10 overs cause the job was already done.

Australia A's scorecard was a weird one though. No-one out for less than 42 but no-one out for more than 50.

I reckon whatever they do, they'll mix the team around in all the preliminary games a bit before settling on a side going in toward the finals. That seems to be the way they go about it these days.

Did you see that some Queenslander fell asleep at the wheel and crashed his car into the Newcastle Knight's number 9, Danny Buderus on January 2? You Queenslanders will do anything to beat us won't you?

Hmm...Looks like the Kiwi's will struggle to top 100...at this rate, we may bowl them all out!

And how was Harvey's catch? my lord!

"We love Harvey cos he's a Victorian!"

    **stamping and capping ensues**

It takes a very special effort to have a team at 94 for 7, and still lose by 23 runs.

Exciting finish. I for one am glad Lehmann was not playing - as the Aussies would have probably won. :)
