Do you need a proficiency feat to fire vehicle weapons without penalty? Seems like you should, because you need one for starships. But there isn't one listed

As far as I remember when I read the Core Rulebook, you do.

You do need a feat. Starship or Vehicle operations of the appropriate type usually negates the penalty and feats such as Gunner in Starships of the Galaxy help even more.

Usually that would be the heavy weapons proficiency, since it covers anything from repeating blasters to heavy artillery and those are the weapons normally mounted on vehicles.

There's a Vehicle Operations feat? Where? I've never seen such a thing.

You do NOT need a vehicle piloting or weapons proficiency. The reasoning being that vehicles are much simpler to operate than starships; heck, Obi-Wan expertly pilots a Bongo within minutes of arriving in an unfamiliar civilization.
