As far as I'm concerned, Rose having a sister who is also part of the Resistance puts to bed the idea that Rose is secretly serving the First Order and will double cross Finn. They sound like a couple of humble, unassuming freedom fighters to me, not nefarious infiltrators seeking to topple the upper echelons of the Resistance.

 

I'm going with the suggestion from the Rose thread that Paige dies and that motivates Rose.

She seems to be more of a stereotypical bombshell than her sister. It'll be interesting to see what their dynamic is. Hopefully she doesn't get reduced to being Poe's love interest or something.

 

I sure hope not : i want to see both sisters reunited, and Rose making her "big sister" proud, for a change*... but i am not optimistic.

*i'm assuming Paige is usually the most "popular" one (seems to have a higher rank, is closer to typical beauty standards), and Rose is probably living "in her shadow".

Shame, if Finn / Rose is really supposed to be a thing, adding Poe / Paige to the mix would have created quite a family.

 

My guess is that she's been worked into the narrative mostly so Rose can talk about how her sister's a hotshot pilot, while she's just a lowly mechanic.

 

I want to see her Kung fu a bunch of big, bad dudes!

 

Odds are good Rose and Finn are going to be love interests so it might be a little cheesy if Paige is Poe's love interest while Rose is Finn's. Reminds me a little of Harry Potter with Ginny and Ron with Hermoine.

 

I wouldn't call her 'Love interest' per se : if a Poe/Paige romance were to happened, it would be mostly off-screen. Poe is a supporting character, and Paige a minor one. At best we will see the two kiss during the victory celebration of Ep IX.

Still, don't get your hopes up for her : she isobviously a minor character. Her odds surviving the first thirty minutes of episode VII are very slim... She is mostly there to serve her sister's arc (giving her a romance would actually flesh her out !).

 

Yea, I have a feeling a lot of Resistance personnel will die when the First order attacks. It's possible Rose loses her sister and that impacts her motivation to continue fighting with the Resistance.

 

Pilots have pretty short lifespans in Star Wars.

 

Is Jessika Pava confirmed to be in Ep8?

 

She was busy filming Iron Fist in New York.

 

Nevertheless, I'm happy to see more Asian characters in the mix. I haven't seen any work from Veronica Ngo but it seems like she is not unfamiliar with action.

FYI, Veronica is 38 while Kelly is clearly much younger. So it's definitely going to be a very big sister/little sister dynamic.

How exactly do you know she'll show skin? Or is this an assumption that you're making? I haven't seen or heard any evidence of this (especially since we don't even know what her character looks like yet).
