ST Veronica Ngo (Paige Tico) in TLJ

There's the training scene between Poe and Paige to consider. Logically that must come after we have met the Resistance reinforcements. Rose and the rest of the techs/mechanics wear a uniform not seen at D'Qar so it looks like she is stationed on whatever ship is home to the Bombers (the Raddus?). There needs to be a relationship built between Finn and Rose (who have never met) and we need to find out that Rose and Paige are siblings before Paige's death. None of this can be done before the evacuation of D'Qar so it seems fitting that Paige dies when the Supremacy catches up with the Resistance Fleet and decimates it.

She most likely dies early in the movie, thus being the catalyst for Rose, her sister, to move from being a mechanic to being something 'bigger' thus joining Finn who wants to show the others that he's ready to get back to work again.

 

I am thinking Finn will want to leave (I don't know where to), and Rose will convince him to stay.

 

So we'll get a little subplot of a single bomber in the fleet.

 

Any Vietnamese posters on this forum?
I know its a long shot as SW isn't particularly popular here (it was the worst performing country at Box Office for TFA, and even on opening night the cinema will be half full for SW) but id love to know how big a deal it is for TLJ to have Ngô Thanh Vân and Kelly Trần(who i'm assuming has Viet ancestry give the name Trần) giving Vietnam some representation in the Star Wars Saga at long last.
I know in general the sequel trilogy has had a far more diverse cast than its predecessors and there were a lot of rumours about Disney trying to expand into the 'Asian Market' by casting the likes of Donnie Yen, but its quite different to have someone like Ngô Thanh Vân who is actually from Vietnam and has a profile in Viet Film, TV and Music as part of the principle cast in such a huge saga.
I mainly ask because my friends here having a passing interest in SW. Marvel, DC, Anime, Transformers movies, even Star Trek to some degree are all way more popular here and ive never really understood why SW hasn't caught on, its still really heavily marketed, the merchandise is everywhere but young people havnt grown up loving it the same they have with Spider Man or Naruto. Hopefully this will be different for a new generation, im already working on it by only giving my students SW stickers and rewards.

Wow kind of surprised that the above post a couple hours ago is the first one in the Paige thread since the film opened. Especially considering how much impact she had for such a minor character.

 

For what reason would that have been different? If she played Rose the complaints about the character and the storyline would've still been there.
