This is my favourite one. It's a simple but effective mix of the Austrian and Hungarian colours. It works just as well with or without the crowns, so not too bothered about them. 9/10

Let's take a look at the recent history of Iraq's flag.

1963-1991

Saddam Hussein added the words "God is Great" after the Gulf War, apparently in his own hand writing.

Later abandoned due to negative reaction, with some saying it looks too much like Israel's flag.

Saddam's script was changed to a more stylised script.

So, any word on what the stars were supposed to symbolize or was it comparable to US stars?

 

The stars represented a proposed union with Egypt and Syria, but it never happened. Syria also had three green stars on its flag, now it only has two.

The Star Kingdom of Manticore

 

Prince William's personal standard for use within the United Kingdom:

Standard royal banner defaced with a three-pointed label (indicating his line of succession) and the red scallop of the Spencer family. 7/10

Again, pretty straight forward. Much the same as the Queen's, but I dunno about that W. It's a bit flimsy. 6/10

 

Since we're all in the grip of separatism here in Belgium, maybe somebody should rate some of the flags.

Right now it's this one:

Get rid of the Austrian flag, Austrian Netherlands hasn't existed since the war of the first coalition.

Those are actually the colors of Leuven, not Austria, Leuven being the Capital of Brabant - and erstwhile capital of the Duchy of Brabant.

As for joining the Dutch or French, I doubt it.

EDIT:

Also, TIL that the King of Spain apparently also deems himself the Duke of Brabant, which is odd, seeing as the Belgian crown prince is also Duke of Brabant. Oh those wacky royals.

I knew I would be corrected on the Austrian flag thing, it didn't make any sense (although the flag of Leuven looks the same as the Austrian flag)

As for Spanish king calling himself Duke of Brabant, make sense in their silly royalty sort of way, the Spanish used to own the territory but after they lost it but they kept the title to sound as pompous as possible.

I like these too. Nice colours. Although I did confuse the Belgian and German flags when I was younger, but now I know better.
