Tommorow night Spike TV will broadcast the Video Game Awards hosted by David Spade. A week and a half ago....Spike TV asked the 501st to participate in this event. They wanted members to show up in their Stormtrooper armor this past Monday afternoon thru today. Unfortunatly, I had no time off from work to go! The show will broadcast on Thursday night....It will have to do with the Star Wars Galaxies Video Game.....check it out....while I weep -Jess
Watched parts of it last night. It was a rather hokey production. It basically consisted of a DJ announcing winners in certain categories. And they displayed the winner on this giant screen on the floor surrounded by cheerleaders. Of course, this would be a teenage "l33t g4m3r d00dz" dream come true, but it came across as rather lame IMO. But the 501st marching on stage and surround David Spade and Pamela Anderson was way cool, though I would have rather have seen the troopers pummel Spade. Oh, and Vader and Boba sitting at the Knights of the Old Republic table applauding was excellent as well...
well i missed the whole thing basically. I saw parts of it-like the guys sitting on the ice and the one guy kept adjusting himself. Unfortunatly not something to watch with your very conservative parents. So what did Star Wars win?
The only award I saw Star Wars win was Knights of the Old Republic for Best Fantasy Game. Other categories that Star Wars was in were: Best Fantasy Game: Star Wars Galaxies Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Best Online Game: Star Wars Galaxies Best PC Game: Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy Best Game Based on a Movie: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Star Wars: Rogue Squadron III - Rebel Strike Best Action Game: Star Wars: Rogue Squadron III - Rebel Strike Game of the Year: Star Wars Galaxies And Best Fantasy game is the only category they collected anything in...
I don't remember Galaxies being in Game of the Year when I voted. But then again I did do a write in on that one so maybe others did as well. I guess it got wrote in for more to because when I voted I think only a few catagories had Star Wars in them-and Galaxies was in for only best online game. Oh well. Glad KNights got it, from what I hear it is awesome.
