    Greetings from Victoria BC! We are in the planning stages of arranging for a Convention in our lovely city next summer and would like your help!

    Haru Windsong has proposed the event in the Victoria JC site under "Admiral Ozzel Wants You" where many of the details for the site have been laid out and some additional details below. Please check it out;

    (If we?re going to go ahead with this event I need to know NOW.
    We have precisely one weekend next spring when the Chiefs and Petty Offices? Mess is available for us to book (29 Apr). Last countthe Junior Ranks Mess (Fleet Club) was still okay. I have to find a sponsor who is a member of each establishment before I can submit paperwork to book the place.
    Using the facilities won?t cost a cent. What costs are: tables,
    tablecloths, bar tenders, caterers, microphones and other extraneous equipment such as the TVs. Ergo, these facilities are definitely our best bet with a great view and on-site cafeterias.
    Upon approval they'll want a $200 deposit which will not be
    returned if the convention falls through. Since we don't have a
    committee at this time is this really a good idea?
    Also, we need to put out an "all points" to every local member and lurker on the boards to come to the first convention planning
    meeting. If we can't draw sufficient serious members to form a core committee there is no use going through with the convention.)

    Would any of the Alberta members be interested in attending/participating in this event? It would be nice to get some members from Washington up for this event as well.

    At the very least is there anyone wishing to donate a small monetary sum to book the site for this event, if yes please let us know!
