I think I will be wearing my Endor Commando costume. It's got lots of layers and should keep me warm.

Um, I'll know better once Don confirms, since I'll be riding up with him.

I'll talk to him about it.

I was just on line to see the date for this and the applications are available. Not sure if anyone had got it yet. Here's the link:

Thanks Debbie. I'd already printed it out. I need to add up the length of the float, my blazer, the Falcon and our marchers. Then, ha ha ha, I need to make a sketch. I'm quite thankful that it won't be graded!

Thanks for making sure I'd seen the application. I'd rather see information twice than totally miss it!

This year I plan on getting our application in before the final day it's due!! Everyone, please feel free to harass me about it!

I think Bill plans on doing his Bith costume because of his portable amp he has, but might change if we get Brittany's costume done in time. She plans on doing Jaina Solo so he might do his Han instead. She is learning how to sew at school and is having a lot of fun with it. I will drive the Falcon. Not sure what Chrissy will do, but we did order a Slave Leia costume for Halloween. Hope it looks good. Haven't gotten it yet. It should be coming any day now.

Slave Leia walking in a parade in December in the high desert?? What, does she have a death wish? Remember how freakin' cold it was last year? We'll have to wrap her up in a Jabba the Hut coat.

I hear you on that one. I am sure she can come up with something better that can be a lot warmer for her.

Hey...lookie what I found! The trailer is 12 x 7. Take notice at the hooks around the frame.

Thank you for taking pictures, Mike. Hmm...12 x 7? I thought it was 20'. Doesn't leave much room for anything on it, does it? We will probably need to rethink what we put on it.

Okay, so I printed out one of the pictures and sort of calculated how much we could put on the trailer. I measured the bottom edge of the trailer and marked every 1/2 inch as being a foot. without someone standing next to the trailer for scale, I think my drawing is somewhat accurate. The Vader I sketched there is a bit over 6 feet tall, so I may have drawn him a bit too big, if every 1/2 inch is a foot. You get the general idea. I think we can Vader, a skinny xmas tree, and the droid on there. Or, we could possibly put Han sideways where the droid currently is. My only concern with Han is needing to put him up on something elevated so he is visible, and him falling off. Feedback?

Yep, if Han is on there, he'll have to be propped up some how. Probably need to post on the 501st to get Chris' input since all these toys are his. Sounds good to me, though. You're doing an amazing job, Sonya!!

Thanks for getting the trailer, Mike!

    Sonya,
I love what you are doing. But if we are really pushed for space on the trailer, why can't vader walk?

I think it would look empty without anyone actually on it, don't you? It's not like we have one of those cool floats that moves or something like in the Rose Parade; in those cases, the float is enough of a focal point that it doesn't need anyone riding it to draw attention and to look interesting. In this case, I personally think it needs someone to pull the scene together and create some interest.
