Shadows . . . . .can't believe I forgot that its one of favourites . . . . good choice JGG.
Seriously? Nobody even mentioned Persona 4? Wow.
I listen to this at least once a week.
I really like the OST from Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation.
Medal of Honor (Giacchino) is on constant play in my car. Man, he weaves themes in much the same way Williams does and it is intoxicating. Listen to "Last Rites" and the melancholy and tragedy he forges there, versus its operatic and mind-numbing use of that same motif as an action score in Battle of Monte Casino (I think is it's name). It's unbelievable. Wonderfully talented.
I give you... Turrican.
My personal favorite is KOTOR, followed closely by SWTOR.
The Mass Effect trilogy, I could listen to them all day. Also the Ocarina of Time.
I've got that soundtrack on a promotional copuy (vinyl). Not bad
There's loads of video game music I love. Here's some that spring to mind
Far from a good game, but it had some really trippy music.
Let me see...
The Donkey Kong Country series (the original 3 for Snes, can't say about the new ones) has great music.
Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb is another favorite of mine.
More recently, I was impressed with the music from the Uncharted series and also from The Last of Us.
Oh, and Silent Hill, also very good music in most of the games from the series.
When it comes to Star Wars, Shadows of the Empire and The Force Unleashed are both very good, but Shadows is better in my opinion.
Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag's add on DLC Freedom Cry has a really great soundtrack. Just wish there was a bit more of it. (not sure if the full soundtrack has been released yet)
More track samples here
KOTOR games have a great soundtrack, TSL is a little better in my opinion.
One of the best game scores I've heard, just like that really dark theme to it.
