When I want to get my 8mm videotakes on the computer, (Pinnacle) I have 3 options:good, better and best video quality. better is for VIDEO CDs. BEST is to big. Now, when I have the stuff on PC the footage is only 320x240 pixels of size??? Is it equaly, if I want to rerecord it on TAPE afterwords? Or is it necesarry to get a bigger size on PC?

You need to capture your footage at 720x480 or when you put your footage back to tape it will not look very good.

    Too late.
Just use the highest resolution you've got. Increasing now won't change the quality.
    Have fun.

I´m wondering why the hell I cannot see a detail- difference between the 320x240 test shot and the 720x560 test shot, if I render an MPEG in 720x560 of size! The hi-res one isn´t better than the low res one. they are really AS good (or as bad). Is this only at MPEGS or also if if I render a Tapetemporary-file??? Normally the tape one looks best... I dunno someone know?

If you increase the size of the footage when on your computer you won't change anything.

you should put it on your pc as big as possible....you can always cut it down after.

well, my whole footage for my whole film is alreaddy on the PC. but I think it is 320x240. but if i capture it on 720xXYZ i cannot see ANY difference, between the original Sized 720xXYZ and the 720xXYZ which is made by the 320x240 FOOTAGE. So now I´m wondering if it is necesarry to REcapture EVERY Scene, if there is NO difference!!!! And my film takes 1 hour...
