Welcome to the First Gamez Forum Video Game Character Draft! Before I set out the rules, some of you may be wondering what a draft is. To put it plainly, a Draft is a game where the players (called GMs) put together their very own team of Characters from a certain criteria, in this place Video Game Characters, and have them duke it out in a ladder tourney in which the judges will decide the victor. Sounds easy right? Iâ??m sure that some of you are familiar with the Jedi Draft or the Comic Book Character Draft before, but for those of you who havenâ??t played one before; here are the rules and positions that need to be filled in order to play a draft. If you're new to this type of game, don't be put off by the length of this post explaining all the rules. It's as long as it is because I want to make sure that everything is clear to everyone before we get started. It's really not all that complicated when you break it all down. If you think you might be interested, go ahead and sign up, then come back and read up on the rules and procedures. Then, if you think it's all too much for you, (which I don't think it should be for anyone) you can always just say that you're not up to it and vacate your spot. There are three positions that must be filled for a draft, these include, 1. The Commissioner and co-Commissioner, That would be Aragon327 and I, are main job is to explain the rules, randomize the draft order, and keep things moving. 2. The Judges, These are the ones who judge who would come out on top when two of the GMs teams face each other. When a match is announced and I have called out a number they will decide who would win the spot for each two characters facing of. Judges are also highly encouraged to post â??â??breakdownsâ??â?? (pretty much progress reports for how each GM is choosing their characters) for each team while drafting is occurring. While judging, judges are also supposed to state why each character would win each spot. So that means that judging is not is easy as it looks, that is why you must PM me if you wish to be a judge. 3. The GMs, these are the players of the game, in the beginning of the Draft they take turns choosing which Video Game Characters who are on their team from the roster (Each GM gets 8 to choose characters for their team, but they only get to choose one character every time its their turn to choose) Once all teams are full the games will begin. Once itâ??s a GMs turn to choose a character, they will be â??On the Clockâ?? during which they will have 24 hours to make their pick. GMs CAN PM their picks to Aragon or I ahead of time one at a time. Notice that if you PM me a pick but someone picks that character before you when they are on the clock, you will have to pick someone else. Their will be 12 GMs, 3 Judges, With Aragon and I leading the pack. So with 12 GMs that means that their will be 12 teams, once each GM has their own full team, trading will begin. GMs (via PM ) can trade of characters to each other. BUT! You can only trade of one character for one character. So say I hade Cloud Strife and jp hade Mario, and I wanted to trade him for Mario, I would PM jp with the offer, if he accepted I would then PM the Commish telling him that a trade has commenced, he would then announce the trade. Trading will take place for 48 hours. Once all GMs have their teams and trading is said and done, The matches will begin. Once a match has been called by me, I will ask the GMs to PM me the numbers in which the characters will appear. Such as 1. Samus (Metroid Prime) 2. Bowser ( Super Mario Bro.) 3. Sora (Kingdom Hearts) 4. Cloud Strife (Final Fantasy) 5. Bomber Man (Bomber Man) 6. Yoshi (Super Mario Bro.) Its good to be random also in the PM, state if someone will be trumping with someone else or be prepped, which I will explain later. Once I have the PMs, I will call out a number and post the characters of each team member for that spot and each judge will decide on which team member would win the spot.
