VIEW ASKEWNIVERSE Survival Battle (middle game)

ok guys, here we go. first, the rules. the game will take place in three stages:

the opening

as always (see the bsg battle for one example) characters start with 10 points, you cut and paste the list of the previous poster and can add or subtract 2 points from characters. in the opening round no -2 or -1 -1 posts will be allowed. so for the first round your options are +1 -1, +1 +1, or +2. there is no set time limit on this round, we'll just see when things start to settle in.

the middle game

when and if things settle down a bit and i feel like we have a solid list we'll switch to the middle game. this is just standard survival battle rules, same as the opening only -2 and -1 -1 posts will be allowed. See addendum.

the end game

we'll use the same end game rules that we've used the previous three games, meaning basically the opposite of the opening. no +1 +1 or +2 posts will be allowed and your options will be reduced to +1 -1, -1 -1, or -2.

whenever we enter a new stage i'll have a mod change the title so there shouldn't be any confusion as to what types of posts are allowed. in all stages people may change the list once every 5 list changes, though this is subject to change if things get too crazy.

adding characters

in the opening and the middle game people will be able to use their turn to add a new character to the list. no characters may be added during the end game. all characters start with 10 points. however, people may only add a character once every 5 of their own list changes. this rule goes into effect after you add your first character so everyone may add a character with their first turn if they like. i don't want this to be a game for hardcore kevin smith buffs only or to discourage casual fans from playing. so if you have no idea who some characters are don't be ashamed to downvote them into oblivion.

rampage rules

rampage rules go into effect after the opening and once we enter the middle game. they are as follows:

1. if the thread is inactive for TWELVE hours (this is new) or more anyone may post regardless of it is their turn.
2. when that person makes their post they are in RAMPAGE MODE and they must announce the fact.
3. when in rampage mode a person may continue to make consecutive posts (mods and vips only one post in each minute) but they can only subtract points and only from one character at a time.
4. while in rampage mode a player's power increases by two points with each turn. so they may subtract 2 the first turn, 4 the second, 6 the third and so on.
5. they can continue to post until someone posts a COMBO BREAKER. a combo breaker can add or subtract 10 points to or from any one character.
6. if at any point during a rampage the rampager kills a character the rampage is over and no combo breaker may be posted.
7. once a combo breaker is posted or a character is killed the rules of the game go back to normal until there is another two hours of inactivity. See addendum.

again, we start the game with rampage rules turned off.

You may do any of the following combinations;
+2, -2, +1 -1, or add a character every other turn of yours.

RAMPAGE RULES
These will take place should there be no posts for 12 hours.
You have a choice of either going the classic route of subtracting 2 points, then 4 points, then 6 points, etc. The way we have been doing all along. OR you can kill any single character no matter their point total. That would bring an end to your rampage.
COMBOBREAKING someone in rampage mode changes this time too. You can only combobreak by killing a characte
